Public Relations Role Development === ###### tags: `Summer 2020` `Communications` **Purpose** : Getting the name of SUTD ROOT out there, and to spread certain things we do to the community. 1. Increase our capacity and influence by reaching out to people outside 2. To maintain connections with external stakeholders ## Context - There is currently no Public Relations role in ROOT, hence a lot of arrangement or contact with the external organisations is dealt with on a surface level. - By having a Public Relations Executive, we could deal with passive requests (Eg. Request for publicity, request for events etc) more actively and build resources and network for ROOT. - This would cumulate to us being able to better support students with our connections and resources. ## Manpower required **Public Relations Executive** - Plan out scope of the role -- How far do we need to reach out to? -- Who do we actively reach out to, who do we passively reach out to? - Execute Phase 1 before passing to the next batch (NEED TO BUILD STRONG FOUNDATION) ## Possible Ideas - Form connections with Alumni - Talk to OSL and CDC to find out more about the companies they engage etc - Engage companies through inviting them to our events (eg. Forum) -- they can spread their influence to our students, especially with COVID on the loose - Building and Crafting a professional page for ROOT on Linkedin/ Facebook, where people can see and identify with. ## Timeline (TBC tgt) ## First Meeting ** Some questions to kickstart the meeting ** - Why is there a need for PR role - Where can we start to engage to build the base for Public Relations? - What can we offer now to build capabilities?
