# Pain system
A system to replace or coencide with stamina in the long run, enter, pain.
This system aims to provide a way for all different types of truama to cause pain to a human mob. This includes and is not limited to: Bullets, slashes, blunt force trauma etc.
Pain will be a ranged stat, the higher the pain you are experiencing, the more debilitating it will be. It ranges from 0-100.
## Painkillers
Pain can be reduced by taking pain killing drugs.
Pain killers will come in several forms targeting specfic types of pain, and strengths.
### Types of painkiller
**Paracetamol** - The most basic type of painkiller, can be used to dampen pain slightly, however, is easy to overdose on. It's not very effective.
**Ibuprofen** - Another basic type of painkiller, this one is less effective at treating pain, but is harder to overdose on. However, thins the blood, causing bloodloss to be more severe.

## Pain types
Pain will be split into two categories: **Temporary** pain and **permanent** pain.
### Permanent pain
This is caused by status effects such as external wounds(pierces, slashes etc.), internal wounds(broken bones, damaged organs), psychological effects(brain damage), surgery(without painkillers), and traits.
This pain can only be reduced by taking painkillers OR dealing with the source. E.g. fixing the gaping hole in your chest.
The use of painkillers is of course, only temporary, once these metabolise out of your system, the pain will return.
This type tends to be less painful, however, it is permanent until resolved.
### Temporary pain
Temporary pain is caused by temporary effects such as a bullet impact, a fall, a punch. Things that do not leave any **permanent** damage. An example source of this would be a bullet impacting your armoured vest. This bullet is completely stopped, however, the pain it causes is immense, but only temporary.
This type of pain can be solved in two ways:
* Pain killers - These simply dull the pain and remove the temporary effect.
* Waiting it out - This method is valid as over time, the pain will reduce to managable levels until it is gone entirely.
This pain is generally far more painful, but, is not permanent. It can be referred to as "combat pain".
## Effects of pain
The effects of pain is determined by pain thresholds. You will likely move between these, and they are not permanent.
Effects marked intermittant will happen sometimes, permanent things happen until you leave the pain threshold.
Each threshold comes with a different moodlet.
Pain has many effects depending on it's severity. Here are the pain brackets:
### 0-10 Minor pain
This pain range does not have any effects on your capabilities and is only a status effect. (Minor bruise)
### 10-30 Mild pain
This pain range comes with a few effects to your person.
* The time it takes to perform tasks is extended. (Permanent)
* You occasionally whimper, display visible effects of pain. (Intermittant)
### 30-50 Moderate pain
This is where pain becomes a problem.
* You have a small chance to drop held items. (Intermittant)
* You visibly shake. (Intermittant)
* Your speetch is stuttered slightly. (Intermittant)
* The time to perform tasks is moderately extended. (Permanent)
### 50-70 Severe pain
Now you're begging for it to stop.
* You scream in agony. (Intermittant)
* You visibly shake. (Intermittant)
* You drop items frequently. (Intermittant)
* You fall to the ground. (Intermittant)
* Your speech is constantly stuttered. (Permanent)
* Your movement speed is impacted. (Permanent)
### 70-100 Kill me now
This is where you're begging to be shot dead.
* You scream in agony. (Intermittant)
* You drop items frequently. (Intermittant)
* You pass out occasionally. (Intermittant)
* You fall to the ground. (Intermittant)
* Your speech is constantly stuttered. (Permanent)
* Your movement speed is majorly impacted. (Permanent)
* You visibly shake. (Permanent)
## Adrenaline
Upon recieving a massive amount of trauma(bullet wound), your body will immediately react by pumping you full of adrenaline. This is a very temporary form of numbing pain. It enables you to continue fighting until it's effects wears off. This adrenaline is trigger only once during combat, and it's a "fight or flight" mechanic.
## Pain hud
You will have a new hud element which is a simple indicator of how much pain you are in.
## Passive pain reduction
Pain will passively reduce every life tick, permanent sources of pain will be a reduction to your pain threshold. If you have a wound, and it has a factor of 10 pain, you will start at 10 pain, and any temporary effects will go from there. E.g. your baseline pain will increase.
