# ISTD FAQ ## Tracks 1. Do I need to declare my track? * Unless you are doing a custom track, you do not need to declare your track. Please note that the Software Engineering track is considered a custom track. 2. Do I need to get approval for Software Engineering track? * SE track is a custom track. Therefore, you have to seek approval from the pillar staffs before proceeding with your study plan. 3. I am planning to take up one of the pre-approved study plans for the Software Engineering track. Do I still need to get approval? * Yes, you still need to get approval regardless. However, if you choose to do the pre-approved study plan, the approval process will be much faster. ## Modules ### 60.004 Service Design Studio 1. Can Service Design Studio fall under the Software Engineering track? * Since SE Track is a custom track, please consult the pillar staffs (Irma Bte Jumahat or Felice Peck) to see whether this module suits your study plan. 2. Can I audit the Service Design Studio module? * No, since the nature of the module is project-heavy (and given that it is a new module), and students would need to work closely with industrial mentors for the projects, the course instructors have decided to not allow students to audit this module. ### Database Systems 1. Can I audit the Database Systems module? * The course instructors have decided to not allow students to audit this module. ### Machine Learning 1. Can I form groups across different classes? * Yes.
