# ISTD x GAMI Proposal

## Projects (Phase I)
1. GAMI to update their website with the new project details
2. ISTD could send out a sign up form (for those who are already interested)
3. Host an introduction of GAMI to ISTD students, about the projects that they're currently doing. This helps to give ISTD students a better insight to the commitment level (ISTD SB to work with GAMI to prepare FAQ).
4. ISTD SB to remind students to sign up again.
5. Depending on the sign up rate:
a. If interest is low, we proceed with just linking them up with GAMI (normal onboarding process)
b. If interest is high, we could help design a better onboarding process to the different projects / start new projects.
5. Q: Some people may ask, is there a form of "recognition" when they takes part in one of the projects?

## Formalization
Once the first batch of projects are settled, and this initiative is more stable, we could formalize this partnership with the ISTD office, and see what they think, then move on to phase II.

## Talks (Phase II)
1. GAMI regularly hosts talks (afternoon in US timezone). Challenge is to allow ISTD students to stream the content.
2. Q: Is there a system in place to get the VODs of their livestreams?
3. We could embed the VOD links (if possible automatically) into our website, and those interested can just watch (this is also to let people know the about the existence of our website, and it's a good way of letting people know about our initiatives).
4. An interesting collaboration between GAMI and ISTD could be if GAMI and ISTD students could work on some contents together and host a talk (need to arrange timezones tho, and require a bit of planning).

## Long term plan
If all goes well (interest is high), we could make this a thing (something like a UROP but with GAMI), and make the subsequent batches maintain partnerships with them.
