THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER (2024) REVIEW
It's the most wonderful time of the year...at least for the businesses that benefit from it. Whether we want to admit it or not, the true meaning of Christmas has been lost in translation. It's not about the gifts we give or receive, but rather about the presence we share. This movie is available on [Flixtor Movies](https://theflixtor.vip/). In this modern version of "The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever" by Dallas Jenkins, that idea becomes clear for the first time in a long time.
Based on the novel of the same name by Barbara Robinson, the film tells the story of six siblings who volunteer to star in their town's Sunday school Christmas play, ultimately teaching their town the true meaning of Christmas.
The film begins with a short story about how naughty the children known as the Herders are. In a short montage we see how hotheaded they are: they fight, they steal, they swear, all because they can, and because they have no parental guidance. Throughout the film we never see her mother, and due to a sad but eloquent confession by the story's narrator, it is widely believed that the children were bad enough to drive their father away.
Nobody wants anything to do with these kids. You could say the small community at the center of the story has already given up on it. So when they turn up and appear to have hijacked the show's annual Christmas play, there's a lot of resistance. The gang is only able to do this because the woman who usually runs the game is injured. This year, Grace Bradley (played by Judy Greer) steps in. Unlike the other mothers in town, Grace is a bit more patient and compassionate. Despite resistance from the rest of the town, she not only gets the shepherds to join, but also takes on all the major roles of Mary, Joseph, the angel who visits them, and the three wise men.
