# Mining Salvage Operations ## About Mining salvage operations are salvaged themed "missions" available from telesci disks which have a random chance of dropping from certain asteroid rocks. These are varying sized maps that offer certain resources or caches of supplies in different scenarios. This is in comparison to azones which are more puzzle or lore focused and tend to be more linear. Most operations will have randomized aspects, and each has a unique mechanic that sets it apart from other operations. Locations are usually unpowered and require basic tools and lights Locations take place on a new restricted z level ## Goals - Create zones for mining to use their gear that they've obtained from asteroid mining - Create ways to get some more rarer resources like Neutronium that can't normally be obtained - Create areas that are fun and keep mining engaged rather than only using an asteroid all round - Create collaboration between mining and science ## Non goals - Create a powergame option - Create something that doesn't offer much - Create something that is ignored every round ## Salvage operations Salvage operations are classifed tiers 1 - 3. Higher tiers are more dangerous but are more rewarding. There will also be unclassified salvage operations, which are much rarer and unique. Intent of tier 1 missions is to be simpler or a way to get supplies meant for higher tier missions Intent of tier 3 missions is supposed to be massive areas that might take more than a round to fully explore, similar to some of the larger azones. ### Tier I #### Cargo ship A small sized cargo ship that was vented killing everyone inside Unique mechanic: - Linear route to the end. This will be the only salvage mission that is linear. Danger: - Turrets on stun and lethal Rewards: - Phasers (on phaser racks) - Loot crates #### High yield asteroid A spatious asteroid with a lot of highly rewarding materials Unique mechanic: - Either a minecart like mission where you need to protect a "mining nuke" along a railway against monsters, or a wave/horde like mission where you defeat waves of critters with rewards at each stage Danger: - Asteroid mites (new critter which pounces at you) Rewards: - Uqill - Gems - Gold, silver, and syreline - New materials possibly ### Tier II #### Abandoned research facility An abandoned materials science research facility that had a zombie outbreak Danger: - Zombies that infect you with necrovirus which zombie critterizes you - Science machinery that's dangerous Rewards: - 3 starstone - Lot of artifacts (10+) #### Debris zone Takes place in a debris ridden field Danger: - Nanites - Syndicate drones - Mines Rewards: - Jet shoes (new item that works like a jetpack but you wear it as shoes) - Several Helios 2 and 3 engines - Random selected rare pod weapons ### Tier III #### Radiation zone Takes place on a blown up ship in space, where a nuclear reactor exploded. Danger: - Radiation - Mutants - Mutant bosses Sections: - Irradiated halls around blown out nuclear reactor - Rooms filled with mutants - Space sections Rewards: - Cerenkite, erebite, plutonium, uranium (new), neutronium #### Syndicate operations base A syndicate outpost on a snow map, actively guarded Unique mechanic: - Siege/raid mission Danger: - Snow wolves - Syndicate guards with kinetic guns - Gunbots Rewards: - Iridium metal - Osmium metal ### Unclassified #### Flock ship A stranded flock ship Unique mechanic: - Puzzles to solve Danger: ?
