# Feature gate criteria ## Experimental - Disabled by default. It can be enabled by using a flag like `--experimental` - Might be buggy. Enabling the feature may expose bugs. - Support for feature may be dropped at any time. - The feature or API may introduce breaking change or change in incompatible ways in a later software release. - Recommended for use only in short-lived testing clusters or only non-business-critical uses, due to increased risk of bugs and lack of long-term support. ## Stable - Have a supermajority of approval from the maintainers - Enabled by default. - The feature is well tested. Enabling the feature is considered safe. - Support for the overall feature will not be dropped, though details may change. - The schema and/or semantics of objects will introduce incremental changes without breaking changes in a subsequent releases. - Recommended for production use.
