# Lab 2 SRC: Deepfakes
## Step 1:
Go to [this link](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/01/19/technology/artificial-intelligence-image-generators-faces-quiz.html) (NYT Quiz—Test Yourself: Which Faces Were Made by A.I.?) on your computer. If you do not have a NYT account, you can make one with your Brown email using [these directions](https://library.brown.edu/info/eresources/nytimes/#:~:text=Go%20to%20https%3A%2F%2Fnytimes.com%2Fpasses%20and%20click%20on,Click%20on%20%E2%80%9Clogin.%E2%80%9D).
Read the intro and begin deciding which are real and which are AI-generated. For each image, write down the reason for your guess and whether you were correct / incorrect. Once finished, scroll to view your results and read the rest of the brief article.
## Step 2:
Once you’re done, discuss the activity with the person next to you!
- How many did you get correct vs. incorrect?
- Did any of the photos surprise you? Did you get any wrong that you were sure you got right?
- Did you have any strategies to tell the difference? Did you find yourself improving as you went along?
After you complete the above tasks, your TAs will call you back for a full group activity.
