As a team we looked at hollow knight and Ori and the Blind Forest for art style inspiration, I liked the hard black outlines, detailed cell shading in the background as swell as the contrast in character and background colours, which make the sprites stand out.

I looked at past 2D side scroller/platform games that created sewers and took inspiration from them when creating the background. I liked the big pipes in the back as well as the black layering on the top, which creates a more enclosed space.Pipes are essential in the background to show the sewer environment. It has to look dirty and grungy so dark colours with some greens would work well.

I communicated with my team to get feedback and other pieces of work that I needed for the game. I stayed in contact while 1making the game so if there was any problems or thing I needed from the team I could ask.

I also set up a section in the discord where the team put there finished work so I could access it, this made it easier to keep all the work in one area.

I started creating the game using a basic template which had one layout, event sheet, sprite and background. It showed the fundamental mechanics of the game which I then built on which is underneath.

These videos assisted me into developing the menu buttons for the main menu. They showed that I needed to use a touch function on the button sprites which would take you to a set layout.

These videos helped with the restart and game over menus. I needed to know how to create a game over menu so when the player dies it cuts straight to it letting the player choose to restart, go to main menu or donate.

This video helped with creating a working menu.

I had problems with sizing the objects correctly so they would keep there resolution. This video helped show the resizing tools, they were still decreasing resolution so I manually changed the size in the layout which worked better.
