Mission: In order to support the actions of[National Bush Fire Recovery Agency](https://www.bushfirerecovery.gov.au), we will collect information relating to burnt infrastructure using Open Street Map.

### What is the object of this Map-A-Thon?
According to the official announcement, the object of this Map-A-Thon is to collect information relating to burnt infrastructure.

> This map-a-thon is focussing on areas that have been devastated by the recent bushfires. OpenStreetMap will be used for data collection in conjunction with government data and imagery. The map-a-thon aims to collect information relating to burnt infrastructure (homes, outbuildings, facilities, fences and power poles etc). The information is intended as guide for recovery efforts to supplement authoritative data sources where no data exists. This information will be subsequently validated and verified at a later date.

### what is SSSI?
> The Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) is Australia's peak body representing the interests of surveying and spatial science professionals, combining the disciplines of land surveying, engineering & mining surveying, cartography, hydrography, remote sensing and spatial information science.(from [SSSI official website About us](https://sssi.org.au/about-us))

### Who am I?
My name is Hiro. I'm a student of Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia studying GIS, who wants to contribute to the recovery from devastating bushfires.I'm not an organizer of this event. I'm just a contributer.

## What to do??
It's very easy!! You don't need any special skills. You just need your PC and internet.
What to do is still not provided by SSSI, but we will gather information relating to burnt infrastructure using Open Street Map.
You don't need to sit in front of the PC whole day. We all welcome your participation even for 5 or 10 minutes!!

## How to contribute?
### 1. Please register on eventbrite

You can choose the way of attendance either virtually or physically. <span style="color: red; ">It's for free.</span>
There will be provided venues in

### 2.Create your own OSM account.

### 3.Follow the provided instruction.

## How to use Open Street Map?

It would be better to create your own account before the Map-A-Thon start.

### このマッパソンの目的は？
特に被害の大きかった地域にフォーカスし、政府が提供する情報や衛星画像、Open Street Mapを使って、山火事による被害を受けたインフラ（家屋、水利施設、牧場施設、その他インフラ等）に関する情報を集めることを目的としています。整理された情報は後日チェックされ、復興作業の計画や実施の基礎情報として役立てられるとのことです。

私の名前はヒロ、オーストラリア、アデレードにあるフリンダース大学でGISを学んでいる学生です。オーストラリアの深刻な山火事bushfiresからの復興に少しでも役に立ちたいと考えています。私は主催者ではなく、一人の協力者です。

## 何するの？
とっても簡単！パソコンとインターネットさえあれば、特別なスキルは必要ありません。
実際に何をやるかはまだ告知されていませんが、政府が公開している情報や衛星画像、Open Street Mapを用いて、山火事で被害を受けたインフラ（家屋・公共施設・給水施設など）に関する情報を集めることになります。
期間中であれば5分でも、10分でも短時間の参加でも大歓迎！！
わからないことがあればなんでも聞いてください。

## どうやって参加するの？
### 1. eventbriteで登録（チケット購入：無料）

オンラインからの参加、現地会場での参加の二つの方法を選べます。日本からの参加の場合は、オンラインでの個人参加（Individual - attend virtually (from own home/work)）が良いのではないでしょうか。<span style="color: red; ">どちらでも参加無料です。</span>
現地会場はオーストラリア全土、各主要都市（アデレード、ブリズベン、キャンベラ、ホバート、メルボルン、パース、シドニー）で提供される予定です。日本からの渡航であれば今のところ渡航制限はありません。

### 3.後日ある説明に沿って参加します。
