# LETI Minecraft Server / Towny Guidelines ### Introduction #### Towny Brief and Preperation Towny is a plugin that allows users to make towns, and nations. How is this used you ask? You will find out after reading this whole guide. When you hop into the server, you are greeted with a spawn, or if you have been already playing, the place where you left off. You require money to actually maintain a town, which can be gathered from others, or going to the spawn shop by using the following command ```/spawn```. While there you can go to many vendors to sell certain items and blocks. **** ![](https://i.imgur.com/M5GYb8b.png) *It is recommended that you gather about **300 dollars to make it** and then follow the next step.* **** ### Making a Town #### Town Configuration and Setup You can check your balance by doing the following command, ```/bal```, which will display your current amount. ![](https://i.imgur.com/2Z5VB6z.png) Find a plot that has the name of **Wilderness - PVP.** ![](https://i.imgur.com/NQBe5mv.png) Once you have found your desired plot with that name, or without the name (because you were not at a claimed town of any sort), use the command ```/town new TOWNNAMEHERE```. I will use Ibiza for this example. ![](https://i.imgur.com/6x9HcmG.png) This should be what pops up after you make the town, go to a wilderness spot farther out, then return, or (Home). :::warning Attention, you can not make a town until you have at least $250 in your balance! ::: **** #### Town Protection and Configuration Now that that's done, we need to figure out how to get that PVP off and get some configs done. Use the command ```/town toggle``` to start off these following commands. ```pvp``` - Turns pvp off and on. ```explosion``` - Turns on/off explosions in the town. ```mobs``` - Turn on/off hostile mobspawning in the town. ```public``` - Turn on/off public /town spawning and the co-ordinates of the town's homeblock in the /town screen. ```taxpercent``` - Turn on/off taxing by percent/flatrate. ```open``` - Turn on/off the public joining to your town. **** Once you have made a new town and configured everything, deposit the rest of the money (50) into the town bank, which is done by ```/town deposit 50```. This will keep your town going for five days. Use ```/town set homeblock``` to move the town's central home. Use ```/town set spawn``` in a homeblock plot to move the spawns location. Use ```/town``` to check on your towns configuration. Use ```/town set board MESSAGE``` to display a town board message to future residents. #### Town Claiming You will want to claim some land for yourself and others. Towny claiming is done by chunks, and cost 25 each. The command to claim if you have the sufficient amount of money is ```/town claim```. You must be at another block that is **Wilderness - PVP** for this to work. Now, you may be out of plots to claim. This is where ```/town buy bonus AMOUNT``` comes in. Make sure to deposit money into your town before doing this. It costs **$25 each** to buy a bonus plot and then claim which is another added **$25**. ![](https://i.imgur.com/64GkJPo.png) :::info ### Upkeep Per Day Upkeep for towns: **$10/day** Upkeep for nations: **$100/day** *Make sure to upkeep your towns and future nations, or else it will capitulate!* A day equals 24 hours in real life. At **16:00 UTC,** the taxes are collected and upkeep is taken. ::: **** #### Town Invitation and Residents You may be asking, how do you invite people to your town? To do that, use the following command, which is ```/town invite user```. Residents are good for taxing, which will in turn keep your town afloat, unless you want to pay for it yourself. You can give residents positions of power by doing the following commands, ```/town rank add USERNAME assistant/helper/sheriff```. These ranks hold certain powers, sheriffs can jail residents if there is a jail plot, helpers assist the mayor in their duties, and assistants are guides and more of higher prestige citizens. To jail, use ```/jail USERNAME```, but you require a jail plot first. Check ```/town online``` to see how many people are online in your town. To tax residents, use the following command: ```/town set taxes NUMBER``` It is recommended to use a reasonable number, which could be $5 or $10. ![](https://i.imgur.com/pWyY9P9.png) **** #### Tax Rating | Towns | Amount | Turnout | | ----- | --------- | ---------------- | | 0 | None | Many People | | 5 | Cheap | More People | | 10 | Middle | Steady Amount | | 15 | High | Less People | | 20> | Expensive | Even Less People | | Nations | Amount | Turnout | | ------- | --------- | ------------- | | 0 | None | Many Towns | | 50 | Cheap | More Towns | | 100 | Middle | Steady Amount | | 150 | High | Less Towns | | 200> | Expensive | Even Less | Taxes are done per day, and at a given time, taxes are collected for the town and is placed in the bank. No taxes with no money deposited in the bank causes the town or nation to capitulate. :::success Make sure to deposit money into the town/nation bank using ```/town deposit AMOUNT``` ```/nation deposit AMOUNT``` And make sure you set taxes by doing ```/town set taxes AMOUNT``` ```/nation set taxes AMOUNT``` You do not want your town or nation to capitulate! Tax your residents, or cough up the money yourself. Running a town and a nation is not cheap! Residents who do not pay taxes get evicted from the nation. ::: **** #### Town Plots Use ```/town plots``` to see what plots you have in your town. ![](https://i.imgur.com/bvOVbJs.png) Let me explain how this all works. **Residents:** You may use ```/plot claim``` to claim a town block. Likewise, ```/plot unclaim``` to unclaim your town block. **Mayors:** You may use ```/plot forsale amount``` to sell a plot. Likewise, you can use ```/plot notforsale``` to revert it. You can also use ```/plot set farm/arena/wild/jail/inn/bank/embassy/name/outpost/perm``` to specify what you want, and they all have different uses. * **Farm** - Farmland plots reserved for farms. * **Arena** - Area for PvP with other townspeople, if you want to be like rome. * **Wild** - A wild area, does exactly what it is supposed to do. Sets a wilderness plot. * **Jail** - A jail for your towns. People in your towns can be arrested by a Sheriff or a Mayor. * **Inn** - A housing plot, can be owned by one person, and can be taxed to stay inside. * **Bank** - To house a bank vault, with valuables stored inside of it. * **Embassy** - To house other nations/towns, set meetings, trade/etc. * **Name** - Name the plot that you own or if the Mayor, to rename a plot. * **Outpost** - To set an outpost outside of the town. * **Perm** - To set permissions for the plot. To tax people for owning plots, use ```/town set plottax AMOUNT```. To set a plotprice (affixed), use ```/town set plotprice``` To tax embassies, use ```/town set embassytax AMOUNT``` To title yourself or others something use ```/town set title user titlehere```. ![](https://i.imgur.com/yoFDypr.png) :::info Embassies and Outposts should be used outside of the town. Claim it like you would when you just find a spot for a town, but instead, think of it as an outpost, or a diplomatic area near another town or nation. ::: **** ### Nations #### Nation Creation and Upkeep Nations are the same as how you make a town, but there is a cost difference and a different way of management. Nations have a capital, a leader, and comprises of multiple towns. This is why it requires such intense upkeep, which will be explained in the next info card. It is paramount that you have a good amount of money to do this. Use ```/nation set capital townname``` to replace the nation capital. Use ```/nation set spawn``` to set the nation's spawn. :::info #### Cost of Running a Nation You must first use ```/town deposit 1000,``` which will cover the beginning cost of the nation. Have fun, be a ruthless dictator, be a caring president, or a corrupt one... ::: Once you do that, use the following command, ```/nation new NATIONNAMEHERE```. It will create you a nation like so. ![](https://i.imgur.com/LhBbwyN.png) Use ```/nation``` to take a look at your nation. ![](https://i.imgur.com/itx0K6U.png) You can see the daily upkeep there, you will need to put some money into the nation. Use the following command```/nation deposit 500```, which will keep your nation alive for 5 days. To title yourself or others something use ```/nation set title user titlehere```. ### Town Relations and Alliances #### Alliances and Enemies In this server, making allies is key to your security and protection. Here is how you can add towns to your nation, and make alliances. Use ```/nation add/kick townname``` to invite a town to your nation or kick them out. Use ```/nation ally add/remove townname``` to invite another nation to an alliance or remove one. Likewise, you use the same command ```/nation ally accept/deny``` to accept or deny requests. Nations can allso join together by using ```/nation join nationname``` You can also add enemies by using ```/nation enemy add/remove nation``` to add or remove enemies. **** ####
