# Mayflower LETI / Moderation Guidelines ### Introduction Moderation in general is a task that requires paitence, understanding, calm demeanor, and respect. In Minecraft it is the same thing, but with a common knowledge and terminology understanding included with knowing what to do in certain situations. #### Organizational Structure Moderation is comprised of this set of ranks. **LETI Command** - Important personnel who are given majority control and are operators. **Server Operators/Technicians** - Personnel who are given operator status, and maintain the server. They also moderate at times and make sure plugins, security, and management is in order. **Provisional Management** - The server management (or what is left of it) repairing the game itself and the server. Bascically what was left of active management. **Senior Moderator** - Veterans in moderation, manages and oversees new moderators and assimilates them. **Moderator** - The basic rank, with most needed functions and usages. #### Recieving Moderation Powers If you recieved moderation powers in the server on minecraft, you may have to rejoin the server for it to process. If you recieved moderation powers in the server on discord, you are fine. #### Common Minecraft Terminology **Admin** - Referring to an administrator of higher rank, which is basically any red named server operators or command. **Mod** - Referring to a moderator, which is basically you. **Grief** - To destroy other peoples creations at the dismay of the victim and to the gratification of the one who did it. **Troll** - People who annoy, bother, and disrupt people for their enjoyment. **Raiding/Raid** - To attack a settlement or base with the objective to take key items, for revenge/vengence. **Looting** - To steal other peoples items whether it be from chests, or dropped items. **Towny** - A plugin which allows for towns and nations. **Town** - Self explanatory. **Nation** - Comprised of multiple (or one) towns. **War** - Refers to towny wars, or large scale battles between two groups. **Neutral** - Taking a indifferent stance. **Noob** - Stating that someone is new or does not know how the game functions. **TP/TPA** - Teleport / Teleport Accept, teleport does it forcefully (moderator+) and TPA does it with consent of the other player. **Rules** - Guidelines for the server, which are to be respected by all. **AA/Admin Abusing** - Administrators/Moderators who abuse their powers in a capacity. **** :::info There may be variations of these terminologies, but these are most common. ::: **** ### Moderation Commands #### Action Commands - /kick [user] [reason]: Kicks people from the server. - /ban [user] [reason]: Bans people from the server indefinitely. - /tempban [user] [time/datediff] [reason]: Bans people from the server at a specific time interval. - /mute [user] [reason]: Mutes people from talking in the server. - /banip [user] [reason]: Bans people from the server with their IP Address. It is recommended that this is used sparingly. - /banlist: Displays a list of people who have been banned. #### Proof Gathering/Evidence Commands - /gamemode Spectator: Allows you to spectate and fly around the map, undetected. - /gamemode Creative: Allows you to go in creative mode. - /gamemode Survival: Allows you to go in survival mode. (Default) - /gamemode Adventure: Allows you to go in adventure mode. - /spectate [user]: Allows you to spectate anyone, but will force you to be within a radius of them. Good for catching up without having to use arrow keys or WASD, annoying if you want to be at a distance from them. - /teleport [user]: A more conventional method, teleporting without using /tpa (without consent from the other end). It is recommended to use Creative or Spectator if using this command. #### Messaging and Communications - /msg [user] [message]: Allows you to message a user directly. - /pm [user] [message]: Allows you to privately message a user directly. **** :::warning The command will NOT work if you have brackets.
