Hello everyone
I will be participating in the 2022 Ethereum Protocol Fellowship program as a permissionless fellowship and this is my very first update on my progress.
So, what do I plan to do for the next four months?
As I have been working on the analysis of the dynamic interplay between Ethereum and Ethereum rollups from transaction-fee-mechanism perspective, my main interest area is Ethereum economic models and rollup economics. To start off, I want to first finish several prelminary readings in order to better prepare myself for tackling these problems.
I am listing all the resources that might be useful for economic model research. I plan to read through some of them in detail, while I quickly review others.
Barnabé Monnot, who is a member of the RIG and a mentor of this cohort, proposed multiple RIG Open Problems with different difficulty levels. Amon those problems, ROP-1: Ethereum economic model review excites me the most. While I want to tackle more advanced open problems in the list, I first want to establish a solid foundation in my understadning of the economic models. That being said, my immediate focus after first step would be to review the current model.
That's something I am extremely excited about.
It's hard to specify what I will do before finishing second step. Therefore, I will spend a significant portion of my time in phase 1 of the program to read, study, reflect, and ask the right questions.
I can't wait to see what I can discover in this process.
