# EESSI/Azure/SURF sync meeting 2022-12-09 (notes of previous meeting: https://github.com/EESSI/meetings/wiki/Azure-meeting-Oct-28-2022) Agenda: - EuroHPC MultiXscale grant agreement is being signed - on track to start project 1 Jan 2023 - EOSC Future grant (Ivar) - for requesting OCRE funding - SURF as aggregator - problem was that we had to chose 1 cloud provider - proposal with multiple providers is providing to be complicated - Google and AWS backed out - Azure & Oracle are still involved - Ivar has already worked a lot on this - Due Friday 16 Dec - Draft/concept available Tuesday - support letters from researchers using EESSI (recycle from previous proposal) - Too late for renewals, Alan will review the older ones and see if they are suitable for reuse - to do: write up some text on sustainability, onboarding, ... - EESSI at azhop workshop at SC'22 - see also slide 5 at https://github.com/EESSI/meetings/blob/main/meetings/EESSI_meeting_20221201.pdf - attendees were pretty impressed on how easy it was to get OpenFOAM running - progress on build-and-deploy bot - https://github.com/EESSI/eessi-bot-software-layer - build + deploy phase implemented: minimal features are now functional - see test at https://github.com/boegel/software-layer/pull/18 - set up a Slurm cluster in Azure - which tool?
