由於近年來在家養小動物的趨勢越來越多，有些人甚至養了不只一隻小動物，而對於學生、上班族等會長時間不在家的情況，無法長時間仔細照顧、控管動物的飲食，舉例來說，假如家裡有養2貓1狗，狗可能會錯食貓的飼料；而2貓中，若有一隻有口炎，需要在飲食過後額外服用口炎藥，若另外一隻貓錯食也會對貓咪身體造成不當的影響，因此我們想設計一個可以精準辨識是家中是「哪一種類」的「哪一隻小動物」的飲食門控裝置，並加入距離偵測的功能，當吃飯時間到時，偵測到該隻小動物靠近時即可放食，達成客製化飲食的作用。
