## Special Issue 2: Exclusive Interviews with all Judicial Candidates

In this special issue of LdS, we asked the judicial candidates of the upcoming election to replace cooliomoose eight questions each, here's what they said:

### Question 1: Do you plan on proposing legislation during your term should you get elected? If so, do you have something particular in mind?

#### Minemaster:
> Whether elected or not I’m still going to propose my legislation/bills as I believe citizens should exercise their say in government. That being said whether elected or not I would propose a bill to protect the intellectual property of residents as well as a bill illegalizing the intentional killing of any name tagged animals.

#### Tinob:
> I might propose something if I feel that something needs to be proposed at anytime.

#### ImperatorMendes:
> It is the prerogative of residents to bring forward bills to be voted upon, not a judge’s. However as a resident, I personally believe the strength of the MtS legal system is its relative cleanliness and lack of bloat. As such I would not be seeking to pass any additional laws in a personal capacity.

#### Orange Wizard:

### Question 2: The extradition of raider thomasvbundt to Icenia was slightly controversial, with some saying that the raiders should be tried in MtS. How would you have handeled the situation as Judge?

#### Minemaster:
> I think there should have been an extradition request for thomasvdbunt.

#### Tinob:
> I wasn’t there when he was extradited but I would have probably just listened to the case and if necessary I would have extradited him.

#### ImperatorMendes:
> I refer to the Judicature Act 2020, article 2d in determining that the MtS court is at best of tangential relevance to the subject matter: the case should have been tried elsewhere. It would therefore make no sense for MtS to retain the pearl nor make judgement on where it went other than that it satisfies the [Extradition] requirements. Icenia satisfied those legal requirements, therefore I see no reason to dispute this series of events.

#### Orange Wizard:
> the raider in question raided icenia so trying him in mts does not make a tremendous amount of sense

### Question 3: Why do you think you are the best choice for Judge? Why do you want to be Judge?

#### Minemaster:
> I think I am the best choice for judge because I’m a relatable newfriend yet understand game mechanics, the constitution, as well as international politics. I want to be judge because I enjoy the legal roleplay part of civ and I think it would be rather wholesome to participate in my local mineman government .

#### Tinob:
> I just want to be judge to give it a go and do something with the community more and be more active.

#### ImperatorMendes:
> I have experience across multiple jurisdictions and across cases in Adina, Icenia and MtA- the latter being the forebear of MtS. This experience has included all facets of the process: prosecuting, defending and judging. In regards to why I would wish to be judge: I believe I am well placed to continue the uphold the impartiality and access to justice that MtS values.

#### Orange Wizard:
> The reign of newfriend tyranny must be brought to an end. Oldfriends must represent ourselves in government or be devoured by it.

### Question 4: Do you plan on counting bill votes and keeping the Registered Voter spreadsheet up to date (that was one of coolio's functions)?

> I of course plan on counting bill votes as this would be part of my job. I would also be happy to take up the mantle of the registration spreadsheet updater.

#### Tinob:
> yes I do

#### ImperatorMendes:
> I have no objections to being a paperwork monkey.

#### Orange Wizard:
> maybe if i feel like it

### Question 5: What is your opinion of the new Mayor, Godomasta?

#### Minemaster:
> Godomasta is a wholesome player who makes great builds and I am proud to say he’s my mayor.

#### Tinob:
> I think godo is ok, he hasn’t done anything bad yet.

#### ImperatorMendes:
> If I was new, I would be afraid of his appetite. Thankfully I am not- so I am at peace with the human sacrifices.

#### Orange Wizard:
> godomasta has done nothing of note since election, thus making him the greatest mayor mount september has ever seen.

### Question 6: Do you enjoy Lusitan wine?

> Of course

#### Tinob:
> I haven’t tried it yet but I probably willl.

#### ImperatorMendes:
> Whoever says they don’t is lying or drinks out of the MtS canals.

#### Orange Wizard:
> i have never had lusitanian wine

### Question 7: What is your favorite food?

> I don’t really have a favorite food because it depends on what I’m in the mood for but if I had to choose I think I would go for homemade meat sauce (made with love) with some spaghetti of course.
