Eli5-DAO stands for Explain It Like I am Five years old - Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). This DAO reviews tools created for decentralized organizations and explains their use in an easy-to-understand manner. We learn by doing and educate through experimentation. We test tools in 2-3 month epoch and publish reviews for public consumption so others can make educated and better-informed decisions for their project/DAOs. Check out our website www.eli5dao.com to see our reviews.
- Where do you see the product going over the next 12 months?
We seek to become a trusted resource that will help people and organizations adopt decentralization by sharing helpful and objective information. Think consumer reports of Web3.
- How are you building ELI5 vs other attempts at similar initiatives?
ELI5 was been created with a focus on decentralization from the start. What was started by 3 founders in November 2022 has blossomed quickly into a community of DAO enthusiasts from all over the web3 ecosystem, with varying levels of experience. We value diversity of thought and an inclusive environment, and invite everyone to participate whether they are veterans of web3 or newbies. We ensured the key features of decentralization were in place from day 1 and continue to adapt as needed with our growth to make sure the stay in place. We truly believe in the ethos of decentralization and that we can go farther together.
- Where is the most exciting experimentation in this happening currently? Which projects? What inspires you here?
We have completed 2 epochs so far on Colony.io and Samudai.xyz. Currently, we are in the midst of epochs 3 and 4 testing Common Ground and DAOhaus. Each epoch is a little different, and we are excited to continue exploring tools of varying categories. The tooling developers have also benefited from our work as we invite them to get involved in their receptive epochs. The DAO Tooling space is expanding rapidly and we plan to have our fingers on the pulse of it as the landscape continues to develop.
- Is this a passion project? Or are the intentions to try to continue to build ELI5 into a long term project?
The ELI5 DAO is here to stay. We are currently pursuing 501(c)3 status in the United States, which is a process in and of itself. We are doing this in the open to help others in the space. Long story short, we are in it for the long haul and are getting our ducks in a row to ensure this remains our reality.
Let me know if anything else is needed. Thanks again!
