Linear algebra, distinct from other aspects of mathematics such as analysis, is a subject that would grow with time, influence other subjects, and grow. Such examples include $\text{SVD}$. As a result, old books may be good, but not necessarily fit our requirements.

Our focus is on __finite dimensional vector space__ during this class. Later, as we shall see, any such space is highly related to __matrices__: linear functions could be represented as matrices, and vice versa.
