--- tags: flex-2021-02 --- # DC Online Flex February 2021 ## Sprint 2&3 Retrospective (3/30, Weeks 3-6) ### What went well? 1. videos lesson follow by in-class handson work 2. inclass exercises were benificial. ### What didn't go well? 1. Understanding javascript stuff. ### What should we do different? 1. more lessons in videos, reverse classroom method 2. I'd appreciate it if Matt could write class notes and push it to our class github repository. It'll help us find notes quickly and neatly. 3. It would be great if our class notion could always be updated with what is happening on upcoming classes. Helps us prep better. Dan does this really well. 4. more variations to exercises. ### What would you want to cover again from the past two weeks? 1. everything javascript ## Sprint 1 Retrospective (3/6, Weeks 1 & 2) ### What went well? 1. Good support. 2. Feeling confident on Git pull and push 3. Fun class. 4. Good Instructors. Knowing what I know now compared to three weeks ago is a good example of that. ### What didn't go well? 1. Nothing really. 2. Nothing 3. Not enough time to complete homework ### What should we do different? 1. Incorporate git more. 2. See some more practical applications with the code we build. 4. ### What would you want to cover again from the past two weeks? 1. Git push and pull and how to handle conflicts 2. ## Example From Last Cohort ### What went well? 1. This cohort is super smart! 2. Great participation in class (cameras included.) 3. Folks are aren't afraid to ask questions (but could ask more.) 4. Class has a good amount of interaction. 5. Pace was good for beginners. ### What didn't go well? 1. Dan's screen was too busy. 2. Not enough free snacks. 3. First day could have flowed a little better. 4. Many resources thrown at us, (Portal, Schoology, Slack, Trello), but expectations of what's what not made fully clear. 5. Magnifyed screen sharing would be nice when and if possible ### What should we do different? 1. More breaks on Saturdays 2. 5-10 minute breaks 3. Have students share their screens more often. 4. Screen share between students.
