## Introduction

In June 2021, the Solid Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team (DEIT) launched the first official Solid Community Survey. As the Solid community continues to grow, we want to be able to include and support people of all backgrounds, industries, and identities. Through the survey, we wanted to learn about the members who comprise the community, discover issues people might be facing within the community, and how to make the community stronger, more welcoming, and ultimately, larger.

## Participants
* The survey ran from June 10th until June 25th
* There were 131 participants

## Results

1. Busy - 47% (46 responses)

1. Timezone issues (too early or too late) - 17% (16 responses)

Some respondents mentioned concerns about not being aware of when the events happen.

The responses can be categorized into three topics:
1. I don't participate
2. I don't know how to participate
2. I don't understand enough

Of the respondents who stated that they don't currently participate in the community, many stated that they are following the updates and the progression of the technology, and plan to participate in the future.

For respondents who stated they don't know how to participate, some called out the difficulties in contributing as a designer or with a non-technical background.
