The first edition of the Solid Symposium was hosted by Friedrich-AlexanderUniversität Erlangen-Nürnberg and Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, Germany,on 30-31 March 2023, and explored privacy-related problems concerning identitymanagement, authentication, and authorisation in Solid from an interdisciplinary perspective.In this edition, we aim to continue the discussions around technical and legal privacy aspectsthat should be incorporated into Solid. We aim to draw from a broad interdisciplinaryperspective on privacy, including human-centric perspectives on privacy and the emergenceof data spaces. Towards this aim, the program will be a mix of poster sessions, flash talks andpresentations of short papers to present the current state of research, and trajectories inprivacy-related research in Solid. The interdisciplinary program committee welcomes a broadrange of methodologies not limited to: mathematical and logical models that can be used toanalyse threats to the Solid ecosystem, evaluated proof-of-concept implementations, andmethodologies drawn from the humanities, not only the legal privacy domain.Thus, this session comprises presentations from short papers and flash talks fromposters/demos in related areas not limited to the following:

Solid Notification through Headers

SC (as understood by RG): Suppose an authenticated client access a topic resource either via a HEAD/GET or a POST; Is exposing websockets cURL in the header any different from going through subscription process from a security point of view. RG: From what I understand, such a cURL will be a standardized channel specific to a topic, i.e. the client cannot add multiple topics or add features. This is undeirable! While this way would be more performant for a subscribing to a single topic, it will be scale poorly. As the number of topics in a websocket channel increases, using the subscription flow to get a cURL becomes more efficient! The former (SC proposal) will require client to manage each topic separately. However, this way a single websocket can handle all the topics on a pod/server. Therefore, I favour exposing Subscription Service on the header (same as the discovery resource) and let the client subscribe to that with all the topics/features it pleases.
