# Catchup Call - 17/10/2022 ## Availability - Automated [slack tools](https://timeswap-workspace.slack.com/apps/A01MLSHLQHY-leave-tracker-by-flamingo?tab=more_info) maybe used for leaves - A 3-4 hour sync window maybe utilised, where everyone is available. It maybe chosen such that it overlaps with everyones availability. - Asynchronous work maybe practised at other times, where one could take up deep work to accomplish specific difficult tasks or take up work which doesnt require much collaboration ### Reference Links - [Nilenso - Rough schedule followed](https://vyakaran.nilenso.com/process/ideal-schedule) ## Learning - As discussed steps maybe taken to tackle innovation/education within the organisation - A couple of hours, probably afternoon mid week or weekend maybe utilised for this - People can contribute/work on these projects during free time too, but it maybe mandated that during the allotted time everyone is involved in it. - Projects taken up could preferably have a utility for timeswap's core products. Such as tooling issues, new standards we run into etc. ### Reference Links - [Kaledios - company behind open source figma/trello](https://blog.kaleidos.net/innovation-at-kaleidos/) - [20% Time](https://builtin.com/software-engineering-perspectives/20-percent-time) ## Asynchronous updates - [Daily Bot](https://timeswap-workspace.slack.com/apps/A44PZQW83-dailybot?tab=more_info)/[GeekBot](https://geekbot.com) maybe used for asynchronous updates along with brief standup calls. Daily bot maybe used in the evening/morning before the standup, for measuring progress and identifying blockers before the call. (Pricing: Free/Freemium) ## Notion/Issue tracking - Though notion is a great place to document, it is slightly difficult to keep track of issues when the scope tends to get bigger, i.e. when there is a need to associate issues with larger goals, sprints etc. - There are several tools which solve exactly for this issue, but personally I feel [Linear](https://linear.app) strikes a good balance between simplicity and complex features. - Notion may still be used as a wiki for documentation purposes.
