# A wonder around town... One of the best things of traveling is exploring new things and learning, some of that includes a travel adventure to begin your exploration! ## Getting to London ### Train Tickets You will want to get a *return ticket* from Hatfield to **Finsbury Park with a Zones 1-4 Travelcard** which means you can use it on the tube as well with the same ticket. ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-2ec0c3.png) If you want to pay with your card a head of time and pick up tickets when you get to the station head to https://ticket.thameslinkrailway.com * Choose Hatfield -> Finsbury park return * Add London Travelcard ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-1c39f7.png) ## Train Info * Hatfield -> Finsbury Park * Train should be on platform 1, look up at the board and you want the southbound thameslink that is stopping at Finsbury park * Finsbury Park -> Victoria Line (Light Blue) * Walk down the stairs when you get off the train and then down the hall till you see stairs going down for Victoira line * At the bottom there will be two boards with stops on the victoria line listing the stops, you want the line that is heading to Brixton, look for the one that says Green Park ~6 stops away ## Walk to Buckingham Palace ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-00dca5.png) ## Walk to Westminster Abbey ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-819aa3.png) At this point you have two options! 1) Walk down to the river and you can see the london eye, then walk over to Embankment and up to Trafalgar Square 2) Or you can skip the river and walk up from Westminster Abbey, passing 10 Downing Street along the way, the Churchill War Rooms are awesome but kids will murder you at this point if you make them spend an hour in a boring old history museum. ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-3cb356.png) ## Trafalgar Square ![](https://i.imgur.com/UiYzTgH.png) > Trafalgar Square is a public square in the City of Westminster, Central London, built around the area formerly known as Charing Cross. Its name commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar, a British naval victory in the Napoleonic Wars over France and Spain that took place on 21 October 1805 off the coast of Cape Trafalgar. ## Picadilly Circus A short walk up to the heart of Picadilly... ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-b06344.png) * Once you're here you can see the big boards, statues, etc... * ![](https://i.imgur.com/0Zat5LZ.png) * Make your way to regent street * ![](https://i.imgur.com/SMfwCDr.jpg) * Walk to hamleys (7 floor toy shop, they have a little cafe with great milkshakes `Credit: Ben W`) * Interesting shops along the way are (SuperDry, Burberry, Topshop, Uniqlo) * ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-0b4479.png) ## Oxford Circus Keep walking the direction you went to get to Hamleys and that should put you at Oxford Circus Underground Tube Station. >Note: if you're knackered at this point you can jump to the end and head home ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-989d3b.png) There are tons of shops, wonder around * Selfridges is a cool shop, there is a great place to get a salt beef sandwitch in the cafe they have. ![](https://screenshots-damon.s3.amazonaws.com/screenshot-190621-d5e1bb.png) If you've still got a henkering for more, take a walk upto the wallace collection, it's a free museum (paintings, decorative arts and a world-class armoury) # Heading Home ![](https://i.imgur.com/xpndGxa.png) From Oxford Circus Underground Station take the Victoria line North **5 stops** to Finsbury Park, then go up to the Thameslink and look for the northbound train (usually to Cambridge or Stevenage) that stops at Hatfield, get off at hatfield and uber to Coopers Green Cottage, Coopers Green Lane, Al4 9HL #### Places to Eat * Nando's is kinda like a nicer version of el pollo loco with peri peri chicken, it's awesome * EAT / Pret are sandwitch shops that have something for everyone * Pubs near Picadilly Circus: * Glassblower, Glasshouse Street * The Crown, Brewer St ### Help! If you get lost! The easy but expensive option is to get in a uber and tell them to take you back to my house.
