# Gradient Background in Android ###### tags: `Android` `Gradient` `Design` [TOC] ## How to make a gradient background? **Two Methods available:** 1. Background Image :::info STEPS: 1. Step2: Set Up Item, Shape and Gradient >**Note:** >Inside Gradient, you will havw many selections. Set XML to your Layout! In my case, I used Linear Layout as my Layout background. In order to set gradient XML to it, we set it as its background: ``` java== <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:orientation="vertical" android:background="@drawable/background_gradient" tools:context=".LoginActivity"/> ``` ### 4.
