# Matsci weapon rework/expansion ## Inspiration The minecraft mod Tinkerer's contruct [Brixx's Medieval Mat Sci](https://forum.ss13.co/showthread.php?tid=16363) # Overwiew Weapons will be constructed from 2 parts: a handle and a head. Players will able to freely combine any head with any handle, resulting in a bunch of conventional or silly combinations. Weapons are supposed to be around the powerlevel of the current matsci spear. ## Sprites Both handles and heads have a defined "attachment point" (offset) so the handle and head sprite can be alligned programmatically ![image](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/SJWtvA9U0.png) Using Brixx's sprites ## Lenght Total lenght determines how large the final item is. A small handle with a small blade might fit in a pocket or even a box but a long handle with a long head might not even fit in a backpack ## Extra stuff ### Legendary Any weapon were starstone or wizard crystal was used will be considered "legendary", allowing it's maker to grant it a name. # Parts ## Handles Handles determine the weapons special attack and has an effect on the weapons stats (mainly lenght and possibly throwing stuff) ### Small The knife handle. Has the double special attack ### Short The sword handle. Can switch between wide and long special attacks? ### Medium The axe handle. Has the wide special attack ### Long The spear handle. Has the long special attack ## Heads Determines the damage type and damge of the weapon ### Small The spear or knife head. Stab damage. Damage from hardness. ### Axe Cut damage. Damage from density and hardness ### Blunt Hammer head. Blunt damage. Damage from density and lethality from hardness. ### Long Sword blade. cut or stab damage. Damage from hardness.
