Assessment Information
---
**Mid-Term (end-of-S1) Assessment:**
(35% of the total marks)
You will need to submit:
- a ==Introductory report==
which is due on **Friday 8th January 2026** at **16:00**.
It should be about 5 pages long using a font size of 12pt. A LaTeX template will be shared with students but you can, of course, adapt as necessary - or may opt to use alternatives such as R-markup.
The introductory report should set the scene for the project and provide an overall plan/skeleton for the whole project, including relevant references in the bibliography and citations within the text. It should contain some details, i.e., some proper content that will form part of the final report. For example, it could form the majority of the introduction/literature review for the final project, and initial findings and (as appropriate) an overview/timeline of what they (the student) plans to achieve in semester two.
You will also need to prepare:
- a ==3-minutes-presentation with a single still slide==, and present to me and the second assessor (Prof. Wei Liu) between Week 12 and end of exam week.

**Final Assessment:** (60% of the total marks)
Deadline: Submit by **Week 11, Semester 2**. Presentations will be arranged between Week 12 and end of exam week.
