This guide is the final say for the situations listed, which means another member of leadership may not "override" what is stated within this guide. # Table of Contents [TOC] # Introduction A basic introduction to the StudsPerSecond Leadership Team. ## Your Duties as a Leader Your duties as a member of the StudsPerSecond Leadership Team is to ensure your subordinates succeed in what their primary function is. Whether you are over Risk Management or a Delivery Squad, you still have an obligation to your members and they will look up to you. **If you are a Leader of the Operations Department:** * You are expected to submit weekly postings to the channel labeled #the-forum under the Leadership tab. These posting are due by Sunday. The following information must be included: 1. How many of your drivers have completed the package cycle. (ie: 25/30) 2. How many shifts you have hosted for the month. 3. Name an employee that has stood out to you, provide the reason. * You are expected to, at the end of every month, process your entire Squad's package deliveries and issue the proper warnings accordingly. * You are expected to keep your Squad's section on the roster neat and clean, without spaces in between employees. This also includes keeping your employee's information up to date, may there be any changes. ## The Expectations of a Leader As a leader, there are set expectations you must hold and abide by. These expectations are set in place to ensure the company is operating at maximum efficiently. The following are the expectations of a leader: * Show and promote activity within your Squad. * Remain in good standing with the Ridgeway and StudsPerSecond community. * Remain out of drama and conflict, specifically within StudsPerSecond. * Understand and respect the authority of your superiors. * Have the ability to quickly problem solve. * Follow and complete your duties on time, without reminders. If you are unable to meet any of these items, your employment is subject to be re-evaluated. # Leadership Policy Due to the hard work and dedication shown by leaders, there are some special privileges to obtaining such position. Along with privileges, there are different policy expectations. ## Civilian Clothing Leaders holding the rank of Supervisor and above may wear their own clothing _as long as_ it follows the following: * Clothing is professional. (suit and tie, business casual, etc..) * Accessories are not protruding and look professional. * Accessories must be reasonably worn, meaning something you would wear in real life. * You must wear the company-issued lanyard with your specfic rank. [Driver Lanyard](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/986824181415030884/1037092819917099068/Driver_Lanyard.png) [Supervisor Lanyard](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/986824181415030884/1037092820969865216/Supervisor_Lanyard.png?width=115&height=115) [Manager Lanyard](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/986824181415030884/1037092820630130708/Manager_Lanyard.png?width=115&height=115) ## Activity Requirement Due to leaders having other responsibilities, they are not required to complete package deliveries. However, their activity is scoped from the compleition of their own duties. For leaders of the Operations Department, your activity is scope based off of if you are completing your weekly forum post, processing your delivery cycles and any other rank-specific responsibilities. # How do I do that?! ## Processing Logs Since we've changed bots, there hasn't been much guidance in how you are meant to process your squad's patrol logs. In this message, you will learn all of the information you need to know! First we'll start with the commands of the @ridgeLOG bot. **Commands** /check - checks a squad's logs note: set save to true to allow your squad to see /checkig - checks if a driver is in-game /delete - deletes a patrol logs (only for managers) /fetch - finds a submitted log (log id required) These are the only commands you need to know for processing logs. **How to process a log** At the end of each cycle, it is the Manager's responsibility to send all of the logs in ops-leadership. This will be the final result of the cycle. After these have been sent, the cycle will be cleared and a new one will begin. You should begin by finding your Squad's logs and note down all of the users that did not meet the required log quota. Exemptions may be granted with Manager approval. If a driver was on a leave of absence for 14 days or more, they are automatically excused from the cycle. Once you have compiled your list, you may move on to the database. On the database, you will add a strike to each driver that did not complete the cycle. The following template should be used to mark a warning: *Failure to Complete Cycle Cycle of MM/YYYY -Rank Username* Complete this process for every driver that did not complete the cycle. Once you have finished, you may notify your unit of the statistics from the cycle. (Please refrain from tagging drivers in your unit that failed the cycle, keep the tags for important updates/announcements.) Once a driver has reached 3 strikes, they are subject to termination. If a driver in your squad has reached this status, please process their termination and notify the Operations Manager. ## Processing a Leave of Absence Employees are allowed a leave of absence as needed, for any reason. A leave of absence is a time where an employee is unable to complete their given duties. While on an approved leave, the employee is exempt from all activity requirements. Furthermore, if an employee is on a leave for 14 days or more, they are exempt from the cycle the leave began in. If an employee is requesting a leave for 14 days or more, it must be forwarded to the Department Manager for further approval. **Commands** /reqloa - used to request a leave of absence /deptaction accept_loa - used to show an acceptance of a leave of absence. These are the only commands you need to know for processing logs. **How to process a Leave of Absence** Once an employee has submitted a leave of absence using the /reqloa command, it will be sent to loa-submission. From here, the Supervisor of the direct division will react to the message depending on if the leave has been denied or approved. If the request has been denied, the Supervisor must direct message the employee informing them of such denial and, optionally, providing a brief reasoning of why such decision was made. Upon the approval, it should be logged on the database as well. You can do so by marking the employee's status to "Leave of Absence" and noting the date of their return. Please remember to set the status back to "Active" once they have returned. If the request has been approved, the Supervisor will use the /deptaction accept_loa command to announce the leave. The bot will automatically announce the return of the employee once the leave has ended. ## Processing a Resignation Due to the At-Will Policy, employees are given the ability to resign at any time for any reason, with or without advanced notice. **Commands** /deptaction discharge (general/honorable for resignations) **How to process a Resignation** When you are notified that an employee would like to resign, you should notify them to remain in the group until you have fully processed the resignation. You may begin with updating the database: 1. Remove the employee from the employee database. 2. Add them to the employee records as a resignation. 3. Change their certification status to resigned. Once you have updated the database, you may announce their resignation using /deptaction discharge, make sure you mark it as honorable. After you have completed all of the above, you may inform the employee that they may leave the group. You do not need to notify a Manager about this. ## Types of Discharges The company allows leadership three different options for a discharge. These operations are honorable, general and dishonorable. Each discharge has it's own reasoning and will determine the outcome of future employment, may it occur. 🟢 **Honorable Discharge** An honorable discharge is given when an employee voluntarily leaves the company on good terms with no prior disciplinary record. Employees that are honorably discharged may be reinstated at direction of the Operations Manager and/or General Manager. 🟡 **General Discharge** A general discharge is given when: 1) An employee resigns on their own terms but either: a) Departs from the company on bad terms or not within the proper resignation notice format. b) Departs from the company with any type of disciplinary action on their record. 2) An employee is involuntarily discharged with minor handbook infractions on their record (such as warnings for not completing patrol log quotas). When a general discharge is issued, this means the employee may not be reinstated, but they may apply to future intakes. Leadership will still be mindful of this discharge when rehiring the individual. 🔴 **Dishonorable Discharge** A dishonorable discharge is issued when an employee has demonstrated a complete lack of care to the company. Reasons for this type of discharge may include going rogue, multiple serious handbook infractions or creating a toxic workplace environment. When this type of discharge is issued, the employee may not be rehireable whether it be through reinstatement or applications. **Only a Manager may issue a dishonorable discharge.**
