Moderators are expected to study and display the guidelines set by this handbook at all times. # Table of Contents [TOC] ## Introduction A basic introduction to the agency's Moderation and the basic operational procedures. ### 1.1 Moderation Purpose The purpose of the Moderation Team is to uphold rules set by Administration and to ensure the security of the game, along with affiliated servers. Moderators reserve the ability to remove any player from any official Sentinel servers, whether that be a group-related game or a group-related Discord server. The Moderation Team is a group of hand-picked individuals, chosen by the Director. These members are entrusted with the one of the highest powers of the group. ### 1.2 Moderation Structure The Administration Team is the highest enforcement of the facility. These individuals control all moderation operations within the facility and have the ultimate decision with any action. The Moderation team is led by a Lead Moderator. This Moderator is responsible for the entirity of the Moderation Team and must remain knowledgeable of all activites that occur within such team. ## Substantive Policy ### 2.1 Verification Policy Moderators must present proper identification whenever conducting their duties in-game. An example of such would be using the Moderator tag when teleporting to other users. ### 2.2 Evidence Policy A Moderator must be presented with proper evidence when administering action on other users, unless they witnesses a rule violation occur. ### 2.3 Command Policy Moderator's may only use commands that manipulate game mechanics in the following circumstances: * The Moderator is teleporting to a user violating a rule, only to inform them of such violation. * The Moderator is teleporting to a confirmed exploiter * The Moderator has consent from the Lead Moderator or an Administrator Moderator's must use their in-game verification tag when manipulating game mechanics. ### 2.4 Abuse Policy Moderators may not abuse any authority given to them. Such members may only use their power as prescribed to them and may not defy boundaries set by this handbook. ## Moderation Commands ### In-Game Commands #### Kick (kick) ###### Usage: kick (username) The kick command is used when a violator has broken a rule that is a low-severity offense. Users may be kicked for the following violations: * Minor Terms of Service violation * Spawnkilling * Abuse of Game Mechanics * New Life Rule violation * Repetitive / Uncessary Killing * Any other non-serve violation #### Temporary Ban (tban) ###### Usage: tban (username) The temporary ban command is used when a violator has broken a rule that is not sereve enough to be permanently banned, but more severe to be kicked. The following is the time allotment for temporary bans: * First offense - twelve hour ban * Second offense - twenty-four hour ban * Third offense - fourty-eight hour ban * Fourth offense - permanent ban Users may be temporarily banned for the following violations: * Minor Terms of Service violation * Spawnkilling * Abuse of Game Mechanics * New Life Rule violation * Repetitive / Uncessary Killing * Any other non-serve violation #### Permanent Ban (pban) ###### Usage: pban (username) The permanent ban command is used when a violator has broken a rule that is severe enough to be indefinitely removed from the game. Users may be permanently banned for the following violations: * Exploiting / Using Third Party Programs * Using an Alternative Account to Avoid Moderation * Severe Abuse of Game Mechanics * Community Removal * Any other serve reason #### Unban (unban) ###### Usage: unban (username) The unban command is used to remove any type of banishment off of a user. This command may be used if users have appealed their moderative action or if a mistake was made. #### View (view) ###### Usage: view (username) The view command is used to view users from distances afar. #### Teleport (to) ###### Usage: to (username) The teleport command is used to transport a moderator directly to another player. #### Verification tag (tag) ###### Usage: tag (on/off) The tag command is used to activate a verification to show that you are a Moderator. ### Discord Commands #### Mute (mute) ###### Usage: ?mute (discord mention) The mute command is used when a violator has broken a rule that is a low-severity offense. Users may be kicked for the following violations: * Very Minor NSFW * Failure to Respect Other Members * Excessive Profanity * Any other non-servre violation #### Kick (kick) ###### Usage: ?kick (discord mention) The kick command is used when a violator has broken a rule that is a low-severity offense. Users may be kicked for the following violations: * Very Minor NSFW * Failure to Respect Other Members * Excessive Profanity * Any other non-servre violation #### Ban (ban) ###### Usage: ?ban (discord mention) The ban command is used when a violator has broken a rule that is a high severity offense. Users may be banned for the following violations: * Major NSFW * Discord Terms of Service Violation * Excessive Prior Moderation * Any other high severity offense #### Unban (unban) ###### Usage: ?unban (discord mention) The unban command is used to remove any type of banishment off of a user. This command may be used if users have appealed their moderative action or if a mistake was made. ## Moderation Features ### Ticket System Community Members have the ability to report other players by utilising the ticket reporting system. This system is in a separate Discord server, otherwise known as the Moderation Server. There are different tiers of ticket reports: __In-Game Reports__ is used for players to report other players that have violated the game rules set in place. Users must provide admissible evidence and a brief description of what occurred to allow the Moderator to further understand the situation. __Discord Reports__ is used for players to report other players that have violated the Discord rules set in place. Users must provide admissible evidence and a brief description of what occurred to allow the Moderator to further understand the situation. __Miscellaneous Reports__ is used to report any other items that do not directly allign with the provided channels. __Priority Reports__ is used by personnel to have the ability to report violators without having to create a ticket. Moderators should ensure they keep an eye on this channel.
