# Ingram Book Builder Design Briefs
## 3 app areas to explore enhanced UX/UI
- Interior Preview Menu
- Interior Text Editor Tool Menu
- Cover Creator Template Selection Flow
### Interior Preview Menu
The client would like us to provide design recomendations on enhanced interior preview functionality.
**Current**
When selecting the preview option in the left hand navigation inside the Interior section, the app has to export the book to display the entire pdf preview. The export can take several minutes.
**Desired Functions**
The preview button could open some preview/export options for the user in a new menu in the drawer area of the left hand navigation.
- Allow the user to select a single chapter/section of the book for quicker export and pdf load
- Allow the user to expor the whole book, but warn about the slow loading time

### Interior Text Editor Tool Menu
**Current**

**Desired Functions**
We would like to add strikethrough and underline buttons and explore more intuitive grouping of the buttons/drop downs.
- Add strikethrough and underline
- We will be turning spellcheck on (comes with tinymce) so might consider a option to turn that off/on
- Important to keep the vertical space small - keep to one row
Some ideas:
- Explore combining the Bulleted and Numbered lists into a single drop down
- Move 'Clear Formatting' button to after the formatting icons
- bold/ital/ect...
- Move Sub/Superscript (x2) dropdown near the formatting icons
You can see and test a full set of TINYMCE editing options here:
https://www.tiny.cloud/tinymce/features/

### Cover Creator Template Selection Flow
**Design Exploration Opportunity**
Client would like to explore a new flow for selecting the cover templates prior to using the free form design tool.
The client like the way this flow happens:
https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/
- you can sign in and create a book, then get to the cover creation: Launch Cover Creator

1. Wizard/guidance

2. Start with an image

3. Then choose element layouts to go on the image
- They really like how it previews the templates with the user's selected image and content

Then our current cover creator could load unchanged with those option and the user could manipulate from there as they do today.

1. Client wants us to remove the 'Download' functionality from this area so it is only for Preview/viewing in the browser/app.
- download messaging in the preview menu
- download buttons in the preview popup
2. Client wants your feedback on the following questions:
Option 1:
Should we combine the Preview Entire Book and Chaper selection into 1 button that is just 'Preview'
- the user has just one action form the preview menu
- when clicking this the app will generate the **1st chapter only** and display that in the popup
- then the user can change the chapter selection with the drop down inside the popup. the app will generate the selected chapter when the choice is made
Option 2:
Should we combine the Preview Entire Book and Chaper selection into the chapter selection drop down
- the user can select any chapter to start the preview process
- when selecting the app will generate the **selected chapter only** and display that in the popup
- then the user can change the chapter selection with the drop down inside the popup. the app will generate the selected chapter when the choice is made
