# How to Submit a Membership Proposal
## What is a Membership Proposal?
DAO shareholders are members of the DAO who have the ability to vote on active proposals, submit new proposals, and reap in any rewards earned by the DAO. A Membership Proposal is used to request membership to the DAO by purchasing shares. Once the Membership Proposal has been submitted, the current shareholders will vote to pass or reject the proposal.

## Prerequisites
* A crypto wallet such as MetaMask or Trust is required to process the necessary transactions
* Wrapped ETH, or WETH, is required to purchase shares in the primary DAO*

***Note:** *The DAO currently exists on the Ethereum, xDAI, and Polygon blockchains. A limited number of Founding members may receive equal shares on each blockchain. However, in the future the DAO will exist independently on each blockchain and will **require** that a prospective member purchase shares on one or all blockchains respectively.*

## Instructions

### From the DAO Overview page
* Click the "**View Proposals**" button


### From the Proposals page
* Click the "**New Proposal**" button


### From the New Proposal page
* Click the "**Membership**" button


### From the New Member Proposal popup window
* **Title:** Provide a title for the proposal (ex. Requesting DAO Membership)
* **Shares:** Input the number of shares requested
* **Description:** Provide any information to support your proposal as necessary*
* **Tribute:** Provide the amount of WETH offered in tribute for the proposal
* **Link:** Enter the DAO link or a link to support your proposal (exclude the http:// or https:// prefix from the link)
* Click the "**Submit**" button
* Correct any errors that may appear and click the "**Submit**" button again


***Note:** *Tribute for requested shares can be a mixture of currency and for completing community tasks. This sort of request should be outlined in the "Description" field of the new proposal.*

**For example:** "*requesting a total of 50 shares - 40 shares for for .02 WETH and 10 shares for completing Github tasks"*

### Confirm the transaction in MetaMask (or your Wallet of choice)
