--- tags: eduit, education, job --- # Code-Camp-CT Trainer 2022 # Job description: The canidate's job is to develop and teach programming five modules to students in Arts and Humanities. The content should be on the level of Software Carpentries (introduction to scientific computing), use the methods of CodeRefinery, and be enough to be embedded in the context of specific subject-matter knowledge (ex. History, Anthropology, Nordic Languages). Importantly, the modules should be intergrated in four groups of courses and be delivered through CHCAA's teaching platform and UCloud. As a member of CHCAA staff, the candidate has to write well-formed and testable code using the software development practices of CHCAA and work with educators to adapt modules. The candidate is expected to participate in CHCAA's core group activities. Qualifications: * An academic degree . * Experience with popular scientific programming languages Python, R or Julia. * Interest in teaching scientific computing to humanities and arts. * Interest in competency development initiatives like CodeRefinery, Carpentries, and EuroCC. * Teaching experience at an academic or research institution * Knowledge of cloud native and high performance computing Candidate: Stephan Smuts Stephan has extensive experience with scienctific programming in Humanities-related research, and teaching programming to humanities, linguistics especially. Stephan is also knowledgeable of CHCAA's development practices, and have previously worked with CHCAA developers.
