# Session 1 With the OPA evaded for now, the crew finally has some time to take stock of their situation and explore their new ship. During their search of the ship one of the crew stumbles upon a concealed space near the bottom outer hull, a basement of sorts, that is mostly empty aside from a single, ominous looking metal polyhedron. Upon inspection it seems to be a container for something, though it provides no indication of it's contents or how it might be opened. Eva and Lani do some investigating and are able to discover it seems to be controlled remotely, and that it does indeed have very fine seams that indicate it can be opened. The rest of the crew quickly discovers that their supplies and fuel are quite low, as the ship was apparently not fully prepared for launch. Bankman reaches out to some business contacts to find them paying work, while Froon takes this time to familiarize himself with the ships controls and handling. After a few hours Bankman lands them a simple cargo run, not exactly extravagant but it pays enough to get some much needed fuel and supplies. The Anaconda swings by the station and picks up thier cargo, a single steel cargo container marked "Foodstuffs". A short few hours later they arrive at their destination, Laurentus station. They drop off the cargo and get paid without incident. Eva takes off to make some phone calls, while Bankman, Froon and Lani start looking for supplies and work. Eva reaches out to some of her UN contacts to investigate why she can't reach her handler. After many unanswered calls, an old friend in the UN intelligence department lets her know that she's been burned. The UN has cut off all support for her, believing her to be selling intel to the Martians. Bankman is able to find the team another paying job, this time from a pair of miners from a small nearby mining station, Rufus. Juan and Jessica tell them of how an explosion in the reactor knocked their shielding offline, and damaged the controls needed to bring it back up. Thier lead engineer was in the control room at the time and is in critical condition, so they are desperately looking for someone to help them repair the reactor, as the UN has declared an evacuation order for the station. Bankman accepts the job for the crew and heads back to the shops to stock up on tools and rad suits. On their way back to the ship, the three crew are accosted by representatives of Vector Dynamics, a corporation that is in the midst of attempting to buy out the mining stakes at Rufus. They let Bankman know that there is a rather sizable financial reward in it for them if the station's reactor is not able to be repaired, and the populace are forced to evacuate. He assures them he will make it happen. Back at the docking bay, the new equiptment is being loaded when a dark skinned martian in civilian clothes wanders into the bay with the dockhands. Eva notices him first, and demands to know who he is, claiming to be the captain. He informs her that he knows who they are and implies their ship is very important to the OPA, and that Mars is willing to pay extremely well for it. After some discussion the crew declines his offer, which he takes with surprising good grace. He leaves them with his contact information if they should change their minds. The Anaconda sets off for Rufus, making it to the station half a day later. On approach they are intercepted by a Vector Dynamics frigate, who let's them pass when Bankman makes it clear what their intentions are with the reactor. On the station they meet up with Jessica and start prepping the tools and parts needed. Eva starts up a conversation with Jessica and realizes that due to the small size of the station and effectively no visitors, if the reactor *was* sabotaged then whoever did it is still on board. The crew spends the next 2 hours speaking with anyone who could have had access to the reactor, and eventually narrows it down to either Juan or a tech named Barry. At this point the gear is ready, and Lani suits up and heads into the control room with Juan as an assistant. Bankman follows them shortly after, planning on making sure the job isn't done properly. While Lani get's most of the controls fixed in record time, Froon and Eva both realize that Juan is the traitor, and rush to the reactor control room. Bankman tries to convince Juan to interfere with the repairs, but is caught by surprise when Juan pulls a concealed handgun and aims to the oblivious Lani. Finally finding his moral line, Bankman tackles Juan and manages to wrest the gun from him, shooting Juan in the side. The suites making things awkward, the two continue struggling for a minute. Outside Froon hears the shots and decides a nuclear reactor control room is not the place to be when a gun fight is taking place. He stays in the airlock. Lani sees that Bankman seems to have the upper hand, and quickly goes back to work, finishing the repairs. Bankman takes a couple bruises, but finally pushed Juan back against a console and empties the handgun, first into him and then into some sensitive looking control panels. He and Lani then retreat to the airlock. In the aftermath, they find that the damage to the panels was more superficial than it appeared, and the system is still intact. They are celebrated by the inhabitants of Rufus, and Vector Dynamics is forced to relinquish it's mining interests in the station as a show of good faith. The crew get's a substantial financial reward from the station, though they have certainly earned the enmity of Vector.
