# Week 1

This week marked the beginning of my work on implementing FOCIL for Nimbus CL. We’re building on a foundational PR prepared by my mentor, Agnish, which will serve as the base for our contributions in the coming weeks. I also had a call with Agnish to discuss about working on the issue to support Disc V5 protocol in Nimbus EL.

I had a sync with Tamaghna, my collaborator on this project, to scope out the work ahead. We discussed how to divide responsibilities and contribute effectively throughout the cohort.

# EIP-7805 Implementation Updates
Phase 1: Familiarization with Relevant Codebases
I spent this week getting up to speed with the Nim programming language and the Nimbus codebase. My focus has been on understanding the fork choice logic, networking, and other parts that adding IL would touch.

I was traveling to a different country this week, which caused a slight delay and meant I couldn’t complete everything I had originally planned. That said, I’m planning to catch up over the weekend and keep the momentum going.
