# TA Hours, Lab Hours, Conceptual Hours and Ed Policies
:::info
Please read our policies on TA Hours, Lab Hours, Conceptual Hours and Ed (you can find more information in the course missive)
:::
## Ed Policies
* We will be posting FAQ threads for each homework. Please monitor the thread as we will not respond to duplicate questions
* We have a private post template that you must adhere to, otherwise we will not respond to your post. When posting privately with a code question, link both your github repo and gradescope submission.
* Post publicly when possible, and only post privately when asking a specific question about your code.
* TAs will be observing quiet hours from 11 pm - 9 am, so do not expect your questions posted during those hours to be responded to immediately.
## TA Hours
* Sign up for TA hours on https://hours.cs.brown.edu/
* Some hours will be hybrid, others will be in-person only. Check the calendar on the course website for more information
* The queue will be shuffled when hours start
* We will be enforcing a hard cut-off of 15 minutes per student. Before you come to hours, you should be prepared to discuss:
* What your bug is
* Where you think it is
* What you have done to debug the issue already
* You will be marked missing after 2 minutes and must return within 15 minutes to be claimed again. Otherwise, we will delete you from the queue.
## Lab Hours
* Lab will be released on Mondays
* Labs are designed to be completed during your two hour lab section, but if you are unable to finish it you can get it checked off at your lab section next week with NO penalty
* Students CAN NOT get lab checked off at a lab section that is not their own except if given permission (you need to email your current lab section TAs and TAs for the section you want to switch to that week)
* Labs will be graded out of 4. Students get 3/4 points for attending lab and 4/4 points for getting it checked off
* If a student does not attend lab but gets it checked off next week, they get 4/4 points. The first three times they do this they can get 4/4, but subsequent missed labs will only get them 3/4 points.
* Lab TAs will create a queue on https://hours.cs.brown.edu/ so students can sign up for questions and check-off
:::warning
**We strongly encourage students to work in pairs/groups!**
:::
## Conceptual hours
* TAs will not look at code
* TAs will not answer specific debugging questions. "Why does my code not work?" is NOT a conceptual hours question
* There will be NO queue, show up to CIT 165 (Motorolla) with questions
