# Core Maintainers
There are a few groups - organisations that are maintaining Ethereum Core Development:
- Ethereum Magicians
- Ethereum Cat Herders
- EIP Editors
- (All) Core Devs
About this group:
On behalf of Eth Magicians we would like to create neutral space for discussing protocol updates and upgrades within Eth Core Maintainers - groups and organisations. We are putting this group together to ensure that there' s enough decentralisation, organisation and neutrality around governance of core protocol. There are many groups maintaining the protocol and we need to make sure that everyone' s on the same line. Creating group of Core Maintainers is crucial to support better governance and core protocol coordination.
There has been competitive behaviour but there's no reason to compete when doing decision making on Core Protocol level (layer). We would like to create Eth Core Maintainers group to create a place for core maintainers to collaborate and communicate together.
This initiative is led by Eth Magicians.
Initally the roles of each group / organisations were explained in following article : [Ethereum Core Maintainers](https://medium.com/ethereum-magicians/ethereum-core-maintainers-%EF%B8%8F-3e0cd90d3172)

## Acknowledgment:
Roles between these organisations / groups SHOULDN'T cover, every group does their job and don't do work of other group without communicating it to other organisation / group
Encouragement to work together, figure out which EIPs should we push forward, create programs, work together on discussions... in order to decentralise Ethereum Core Governance.
We all are responsible for decision making of Ethereum Protocol, yet we struggle to collaborate together. This group was created to improve decision making within the groups / organisations as we should COORDINATE not CONTROL.
Talk about our individual organisations / groups plans not compete and take someone else's job.
We, as groups / organisations, needs to differentiate ourselves, improve communication and collaboration.
## Action points:
