# Ethereum Rodmap 2020 Devcon5 notes Collaborative notes from Ethereum Roadmap 2020 sessions that happened during first day (Oct 8th) of [Devcon5](https://devcon.org/agenda) in Convention Room1 in Osaka. Ethereum Roadmap 2020 sessions were organised by [Ethereum Magicians](https://ethereum-magicians.org) Recording from [Ethereum Roadmap 2020 - Eth 1.x session](https://slideslive.com/38920094/ethereum-roadmap-2020-open-community-discussion) #### Please try to keep those notes as clean and organised as possible 🙏 ### Feel free to add your notes from those sessions :) --- Notes from [Jamie Pitts](https://twitter.com/jemenger) #### Eth1 Highlights - Fee market change [EIP1559](https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-1559) - Stateless clients and state rent discussed. It seems as if stateless is now getting the focus as state rent is possibly stalled. - The conversation continues with posts like this one published on [ethresear.ch](https://ethresear.ch/t/the-stateless-client-concept/172/16) All agree that the discourse about ProgPOW has been too personal and conspiracy-driven. We can do better. #### Eth1-Eth2 transition Highlights Some key questions came up: - Will 2 cryptocurrencies degrade the usability of the platform? - Will composability will be threatened by the shards? - What will the transition be like for dapp developers and users? These were answered in session, and later in some great articles by Vitalik Buterin on Ethereum Research Discourse forum: [“The eth1 -> eth2 transition”](https://ethresear.ch/t/the-eth1-eth2-transition/6265) [“Two way bridges between Eth1 and Eth2”](https://ethresear.ch/t/two-way-bridges-between-eth1-and-eth2/6286 ) ["Cross-shard DeFi composability"](https://ethresear.ch/t/cross-shard-defi-composability/6268) #### Eth2 - MP introduced the Eth2 implementers - Eth2 clients shared intro and progress on their clients
