# Bitcoin Design Community Social Media (Twitter) Protocol ## Problem Statement As the community grows to over 600 in Slack, it becomes more difficult to keep track of what is happening across the 19 channels. 1. Not every channel has high engagement 1. Users may not know about all channels It can be time consuming to filter what is signal and what is noise. ## Solution Make it easier for people to follow what’s going on in the community by posting highlights/summaries of topics being discussed. ### Benefits 1. Reach interested people who just don't have the time to check Slack/Github 1. Reach new people 2. Build awareness for #BitcoinDesign 3. Stimulate conversations 4. Educate 5. Promote good design work ### Content 1. Announce calls organized in the community (do not post call links) 2. Announce when newsletter has gone out 3. Share updates from projects community members are working on 4. Share bits from interesting discussions on Slack 5. Retweet good bitcoin UX content (new projects, project updates, events) ### Voice and tone This is a pure channel to share information, not a way to have conversations. If questions come in, they can be answered, but let's avoid having a "personality". - Informative - Educational - Neutral - Positive and helpful ### Hashtags Content/Post should use at least one hashtag matching it's source channel or feel free to use one from below which is more relevant. Why use hashtags? What is the benefit? - #BitcoinDesign - #BitcoinDesignGuide - #Bitcoin - #FirstBillionUsers - #OpenDesign - #UserResearch - #Onboarding - #GettingStarted - #PrivateKeyManagement - #Transactions - #Payments - #CommunityCall - #DesignReview - #BitcoinCoreGUI - #Glossary - #CoinControl - #CoinJoin - #Privacy - #Art - #Memes - #ProjectIdea ### Handle https://twitter.com/bitcoin_design ### Authors Johns, Conor, and Christoph to start. --- See related newsletter planning doc - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NvXO_AjZvw9xzQG7vqr2anDPYDsgzCMok8q3n5bVDxE/edit#
