# MetaCartel Grants Pealing the Onion 🧅:

##### Goals of this document:
- Demonstrate recent challenges faced by MetaCartel & illustrate how MetaCartel can stay on brand through activating "pods".
- Articulate a strategy for pods to fund building mini-apps within the MetaCartel ecosystem that will advance coordination tooling across projects MetaCartel supports.
- Provide holistic review and outline pod structure as devised within the [Chili Scouts](https://forum.metacartel.org/t/3mo-retrospective-feedback-scout-chili-pod/2635) offering a deployable framework for sub-groups to organize themselves within MetaCartel & allocate capital.

MetaCartel has been runnig hot in this bear market, and despite efforts to [spike the treasury](https://forum.metacartel.org/t/gutting-the-chili/2614) in a fury, the Chili has been cooling, preserving as Seasons are Changing and we transmorgrify into the new year.

The primordial goop stews, an undercurrent takes shift, innovative dapps are calling to MetaCartel like a swarm of Bees pollinating the Chili. Before the Chili can rise again, the flower is due resources, the pods need to eat.

##### Pods == Positive Resolve

MetaCartel is an evolving beast, there is not a question about it. The choice members make to engage are theirs, yet the [community first manifesto](https://www.metacartel.org/manifesto) guides us in language unkept from admonishing members from engaging and staying in relationship to one another. The tether solidifying our charter and commitment to community first principles inextricably links members together in an ecosystem capable of producing atomic level impact and supporting web3 projects across a range of verticals.

#### Aligning on directives that advance MetaCartel ~

*A simple strategy that may be adopted to support agile product development across DAOs:*

##### Pod Focus - Action oriented and dynamic, optimized for:
* Individuals & Interactions > Processes & Tools (UX > tools)
* Frequent Deliveries to Real Users
* Input <*Communication*> Output Feedback Loops
* Scope minimization & attention deficit

**Phase 1 - Race**
* Identify - who, what, why, how, & when
* Storm - braindump, rapid ideation, dream & imagine
* Form - align around what was identified & ideated on
* Scope - milestones, deliverables, KPIs / OKRs, maintenance items, affected variables / systems / mechanisms.

**Phase 2 - Raid** - "We're talking execution."
* Build - Pretty straight forward, Just Do It.
* Implement - Identify blockers and key resources that promote success.

**Phase 3 - Review**
* Retro
* Integrate
* Iterate

There are several projects that would benefit from MetaCartel's active presence & support, to fund & help build the ecosystem MetaCartel purports to have fostered great value in.

*Integrations or products MetaCartel chooses to help build or incubate may be considered for "tailored-monetization," where participants opt-in to monetize frameworks, apps, or tooling (adding paid-features that could return value to the Cartel in the future).*

### Getting Started

MetaCartel began as a grant giving organization, and in bear market, it is important that MetaCartel continue to play this role as projects are hungry for work but may not have the funding or domain expertise to build useful dapps or protocols.

Preserving some aspects of MetaCartel as a grant giving organization seems wise (the eyes of a luddite), now at a turning point in the Cartels history when we are destined for charting out new territory.

## Projects

### PepperStake
- smartinvoice extension for DAO arbitration
- https://melo.cafe for zkVoting
- http://pepperstake.xyz for driving autonomous contribution & development (`add paid-feature` **suprevisor can be a DAO & sponsor can be a DAO**)
- DAO-Options, create a simple proposal type for DAOs to be able to post options, allow contributors to purchase tokens OTC, or commit a token-swap (`add paid-feature` **OTC buyer can offer tokens or purchase tokens that are locked into a Hedgy**)
- Airtable form wired to shaman that can distribute shares/loot for completing form w/ required fields (think about ChiliSteeple for MCON2 & Yalors Expense reporting)
- ESP (Extended Signalling Protocol) - Allow anyone with $CHILI to submit proposals to be curated and refined by the DAO, then added to a claimable list of projects for devs. People who curate and get claims along the way so their are incentives to do so.
- DeWork is building a Git style proposal tool, where community members can make ammendments to proposals, so as to push the governance process forward and not require voters to make all or nothing compromises on a proposal that they support 51% of the way but are not in full support, where they can offer ammendments & the proposer can choose whether or not to include them before final voting.
