The project's background is shaped by the author's key experiences between 2023 and 2024: 1) actively engaging with Taiwan's #MeToo movement, 2) navigating the aftermath of surviving an abusive relationship, and 3) managing the challenges of a diagnosed chronic illness. These transformative events inspired the creation of the BOTAMEVE curriculum and glossary, fostering reflections on truth, resilience, and healing. Their journey has also been enriched by a wide range of books, YouTube content, and podcasts on topics such as narcissistic relationships, manipulation tactics, codependency, and PTSD. Many of these resources are shared in this publication, offering context to the project's foundation and evolution.
