## Do's
- Use [Droptimizer](https://www.raidbots.com/simbot/droptimizer) to sim your immediate best upgrades. Even better is popping the items you are considering into [Top Gear's Item Search](https://www.raidbots.com/simbot/topgear) and simming those items in conjunction with other gear changes. A trinket change may mean your secondary stat balance needs to shift to get the most out of it.
- Note that for BM DR, Pacemaker (at least in Patchwerk sims) can oversim by up to ~1%. Still really good, just keep that in mind.
## Dont's
- Buy things that you can easily obtain "naturally" within the next ~week, especially HC Raid items.
- Buy the Yasahm Weapon. Its effect is like +0.2% DPS over other weapons, it's extremely unlikely this is the best thing you can buy even if it is the "BiS weapon" on paper.
## Shortlist of Interesting Items
*In no particular order, that's what Droptimizer is for.*
### All Specs
- Soul Hunters Boots (ideally Mythic).
### MM/BM Dark Ranger
- Unyielding Netherprism is an insane Trinket and even a HC one will probably be better than any other Mythic trinket.
- BM DR has a variety of second BiS Trinkets for different situations. With perfect 1-min CD usage, Pacemaker is best. With other kinds of usage, Ritual Forge is best. In situations where holding a strong Prism is OP, Antenna can be best. Ritual Forge is the most "universal" Trinket.
### BM Pack Leader
- Antenna/Pacemaker are simply the optimal combo here.
### Survival
- For Mythic+ gamers, Cursed Stone Idol. Otherwise Ritual Forge. For the second Trinket slot, generally Antenna.
## October 7th
- All items can now go 7 iLvl higher for the cost of 30 Crests, including Crafts.
### Crest-saving considerations for October 7th
- It can be beneficial to hold Crests from the previous week for this. For example, today on Oct 1st I could send 30 Crests to take a Ring from 717-723. But, there are better slots than the Ring to upgrade next week. It'll cost me 180 Crests (2 weeks worth) to upgrade Weapon, 2 Trinkets, Helm + Chest + Legs, all of which are typically more valuable upgrades than the Ring. So, I'll hold my 90 Crests for this week to get all the best items to 730 early next week. Obviously, if you're on the cusp of getting a tough prog boss down this week, you should probably send.
### Delve Belt/Crafted Belt considerations
- The Delve Belt gets nerfed by 20%, making it around ~0.8% weaker than it is right now. It also probably oversims by maybe ~1% (made-up semi-educated figure). It will still take a good Mythic-track upgraded Belt to beat it, **but** keep in mind that getting such a Belt takes Crests that are most likely better spent on the aforementioned Weapon, Trinkets, Helm/Chest/Legs upgrades. So spending Crests on crafting a Belt is probably a mistake until you have spent your Crests on higher-budget pieces. While the Delve Belt is no longer BiS, it is pretty expensive to replace in terms of Crests (until those get uncapped on the 21st), and you will also probably need to invest a socket in your crafted Belt to realize this gain which can also be a steep price.
### TL;DR
- Delve BiS is no longer BiS **but** you will probably still wear it for a while because [it takes a ~714 Belt to beat it reliably for BM DR if we assume 1% oversim. A socket on a Belt is worth ~6-7 iLvl](https://mimiron.raidbots.com/simbot/report/pybCzukwKjNiMEoCctJNDc), which costs a lot of Crests + a Socket. There are better things to spend Crests on early on and (hopefully) better things to pick from Vault than a Socket.
## October 21st
- We get the "Dinar" chips that can be spent on gear. The best way to work out what to buy is [Raidbots Droptimizer](https://www.raidbots.com/simbot/droptimizer), though of course keep in mind that buying something you could get "organically" from a drop etc is likely a mistake.
- Crests are now uncapped so you can grind them all out and upgrade everything and the optimizations of the past 2-3 weeks kinda stop mattering at this point.
