## Intro and housekeeping
### Roll call question :loudspeaker:
- What lessons have stood out to you as being 'memorable'? This can be from your perspective as a learner OR as an educator.
---
## Feedback and Q&A
### Questions from participants
Place your questions here and we will pick these up in the session :smile_cat:
- I have been very interested in the work of Pratim Sengupta [on teaching AI ethics](https://direct.mit.edu/books/oa-monograph/chapter-pdf/2088508/9780262363075_c000700.pdf) and trainsitioning others, with the idea that by using an "other" then there is space for the learner to explore their own bias/ values/ beliefs by comparing to the "other". I wonder if what this resonates with your work Aline?
- One of the areas of research in education knowledge building that we have been involved with is [[Semantic Waves](https://teachinglondoncomputing.org/semantic-waves/)] - by Karl Maton. In this theory the linking of technical vocabulary and everyday vocabulary along with moving from abstract to familiar contexts is the seen as being a good way to learn. This seems to be a theory that links to Arron's approach to link to relatable contexts. Have you come across this theory?

#### Room 10
1. Sharing of good practice: what do you do (or have you done) in your teaching that will be 'memorable' for your learners?
- I'm currently exploring collaboration tools
- For our github workshop, having a very exciting outcome for people who have never used Github before has been received really well (i.e. solving a first PR in an open source project!): https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/the-turing-way
- MOOC - online tools make it easier to keep track of learning (i.e. recorded videos, etc on moodle)
- Portfolio of learnings at the end of a course
- Github pages personal website: https://pages.github.com/
