# Do Magisk and other Mods affect SafetyNet?
Magisk is one of - if not THE - most popular Android modding toolkits there is, though **installing and using it often trips SafetyNet**, making applications ++know++ that you're running Rooted (Many apps then refuse to open, or restrict functionality)
This isn't restricted to only Magisk, other modifications, like even just unlocking the Bootloader of your device might also trip SafetyNet, same goes for other rooting methods, Custom ROMs, and XPosed.
Specifically, SafetyNet checks (as far as I know) for the following:
- Bootloader unlock state
- Device Fingerprint (to identify what device you're on)
- Root status
