# What does "kanging" mean?

"Kanging" is essentially stealing somebody else's code without credit and claiming it as yours.
You can commonly see this in Android ROMs like EvolutionX for instance, which essentially just took a Codebase which wasn't their own and `git cherry-pick`'d a bunch of features from other ROMs without any sort of credit.

For instance, there used to be a project called "ExtendedUI" which had some things added, specifically I remember them adding an option to tint QS Tiles by randomized colors and by your accent color entirely, and leave no white/black space inside the icon.
It didn't take long for EvolutionX to take the commit that added this feature and slap it onto their own ROM, stating it as a new feature.

HavocOS, AncientOS, Nusantara, and some others are/have been known for stealing code too, whilst this doesn't mean you cannot use these ROMs, I certainly don't support it.
