EverydayDAO: Utilizing Nouns Builder to revitalize NFT projects across crypto.

TLDR: Supercharging our mission to onboard thousands on to Nouns Governance.


**Who we are:**
To our knowledge, EverydayDAO is the first DAO launched using Nouns Builder for the purpose of revitalizing a traditional NFT project.

We started one year ago as Pixel Doods!
Pixel Doods was an NFT project like so many others. They had a successful mint and early momentum. This gradually slowed and ended with a cash grab by it's founders. Ultimately, it was abandonment by the leadership. The community was left to try and forge a way forward with the small amount of resources they had left and have been slowly finding their way. It's been a learning experience for all of us, but most of all, it's been a joy to work alongside the great community in this effort to rebuild.
We decided about 6 weeks ago to transition the community into a new DAO using Nouns Builder. The original project holders are the founders of the project and receive every 10th NFT in their community wallet. The others are auctioned off as normal. This creates a unique two-tiered governmental structure that we hope will allow a low cost option to join our governance via the original project, and a more exclusive way to join through the auction. We’ve created new art, talked through the governance changes, and received buy-in from our community.


We launched on January 15th, 2023 and have already more than doubled our remaining funds from Pixel Doods in our first 14 auctions. We have the ability to plan and build again because of Nouns Builder and we're excited to see where the coming year brings us.

**What we would like to do:**
Here's the deal, we're far from alone.
The story of our community has been played out hundreds, maybe thousands, of times over the past couple of years. In the wake of devastation, many communities full of talented and good natured people are waiting for the next step. Where do they go from here? We believe Nouns governance holds the answer to restart many communities and provide a fresh start so they can all participate in building something viable and sustainable for the future.


There are a couple of narratives that have played out in these rugged projects.
1. The founders of the projects left, and the community has no access to the art, discord, twitter, or anything else to be able to run the community.
2. The founders took the project funds but left behind the assets for the community to attempt to restart the project. The community has the website, social media accounts, and the ability to continue to make creator fees on additional sales to try to make enough to stay afloat.

**The Plan:**
If we receive this grant, this is what we will do.
- We will begin an evangelism system for our members and then for everyone else who joins. The sad reality is that most of us have been a part of many rugged communities. We want to attract as many of those as possible to the Nouns Builder ecosystem to get a fresh start.
- Each week, we will run contests to help our members and others to get creative in spreading the news about Nouns Builder across web3. We want to actively reward those who are helping others find the beauty of joining a DAO that gives everyone a chance to contribute.
- We will seek out projects that are like #2 up above. Those communities that have control of their assets and have interest in restarting as a community led DAO. We want to create a grant program for them to help cover the cost of launching through Nouns Builder and also to provide them with a small amount of seed money to help create new art, set up governance systems, and do anything else they might need to do to get to the launch of their first auction. Each community will have to meet minimum metrics (Control of resources, a clear vision, and at least 20 active community members who are committed to the new launch) to be eligible to receive a grant.
- We will transition a text based game we have as a community asset into an onboarding tool for Nouns governance.


The learning curve with Nouns Builder can be pretty steep for the uninitiated. When completed, this game will be an incredible tool for us and any other Builder project looking to attract people from outside of web3 and other areas of crypto to come learn about and take part in Nouns governance. The game will take them through 60 missions. across 20 levels in a fun and engaging way while also teaching them about Nouns governance and allowing them to earn rewards tailored to their community.

**The Budget:**
Our planned budget breakdown looks like this:
- 11 ETH set aside for grants for communities to restart by creating their own DAO using Nouns Builder. We aim to convert 6-10 communities like this in 2023 to expand this experiment to as many groups as possible.
- 4 ETH set aside for Nouns Builder evangelism rewards. We will have dozens of creative contest rewards that will promote Nouns Builder and projects that use Nouns governance. These contests will use Twitter and person to person, guerrilla marketing, tactics to reach as many people as possible with the principles of decentralized governance.
- 5 ETH to build tooling that can be used across the Nouns ecosystem. Our text based game already works as a contest tool and defacto staking mechanism. We want to rebrand it, write new copy, and standardize aspects of it so that it will also be useful for other communities across the Builder ecosystem.

These amounts will be released slowly and retroactively based on work completed and communities reached. All transactions will be approved through Nouns Builder proposals and voted on by our established community.


**Conclusion:**
We have already successfully launched EverydayDAO to restart our community, but our great desire is to bring as many with us as we can. We're excited for the future and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to partner with Nouns Builder DAO to make a valuable contribution to the space.

**Who am I?**
My name is Andrew Laddusaw. I'm a very active Nouncillor and I have made it my goal to help as many people as possible find their place in Nouns DAO and it’s many subDAOs. I have helped many people find funding and begin building projects so far and we have many more in the works. I'm fascinated by Nouns governance and have been looking for opportunities to introduce it's unique structure to the multitude of groups across the NFT world who desperately need a new path forward. I believe Nouns Builder creates the greatest chance to spread the Nouns meme since it’s inception. It creates a unique opportunity that we should take full advantage of during this bear market season.
