you get?**

### 2. Web credibility
● **Find a web page of questionable credibility and apply some of the criteria**
A web page that first came to my mind in which I believe has a questionable
credibility is a modification also called hacked client for a game my friends and I
often play called Minecraft. This modification/hacked client is called Aristois and its
website is https://aristois.net/. I question the credibility of this source not because it
is not a safe source by itself but because of what its product and similar products can
do. There is an entire market revolved around hacked minecraft clients and
modifications many if not all of them are deceiving. Many people like my friends and
I have used them and they have directly brought multiple viruses and malware on to
our computers. In each of the hacked clients websites they attempt to sell and
market their product as being the best and being the “right one to use”. This [link](https://www.mchacks.net/category/minecraft-hacked-clients/) is to
a website that contains links to multiple different minecraft hacked clients. All of
these hacked clients potentially are safe to use and access but when downloading
viruses and malware can directly be brought on to your computer by most/if not all
of these hacked clients. Although these minecraft hacked clients all are safe by
themselves and are meant to help gamers in doing things they couldn’t do in the
game previously the creators do not specify the effects these can have on your
computer or the possibility of malware and viruses being put onto your computer as
a result of downloading their clients. This in a way I believe is the clients way of
being untruthful and trying to increase the revenue and use of their products. In the
article by Valenza the word truth is used a lot and the word post-truth I think is very
relevant to this topic on the credibility of minecraft hacked clients. In the article by
Valenza post-truth is defined by Oxford, “as relating to or denoting circumstances in
which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to
emotion and personal belief.”(Oxford) I believe this definition of post-truth is
relevant because despite knowing the hacked clients are factually going to affect your
computer the hacked clients also if you get them can allow you to do things you
would not have been able to previously do in the game which emotionally and
quickly can shape your own opinion to gain a competitive edge or even just use the
hacked clients for fun. In the article by Berkley Library there is a step-by step guide
which can be used when you encounter a source. The (1) authority of the source and
what their point of view is? (1) Each hacked client is selling their product for
revenue, uses and/or popularity/views. The (2) purpose of the source and who is the
intended audience? (2) The audience is minecraft gamers and the purpose of the
source is to allow gamers to be able to modify Minecraft. The (3) publication &
format is where was it published and in what medium? (3) Most hacked clients are
published on their own websites and advertised on other websites. The (4) relevance
is how relevant a source is to your research and what is its scope? (4) The minecraft
hacked clients like Aristois and Wurst are relevant because they are all different
options or you can call them brands for the same product. The (5) date of publication
is when was the source written and has it been updated? (5) This is important
because the different hacked clients have different versions and you need to have the
most up to date version and some hacked clients only have older versions so you
would want to use newer up to date versions to bypass anti-cheats and plugins. And
finally the (6) documentation did they cite their sources? Who did they cite? (6)
Ultimately for this topic this is not as important but it is important to know who the
website sites if anyone because someone created the website or got the information
from somewhere else. When considering the use of any source this guide can be used
to determine if the source is credible or not and if you should continue to be using it.
Overall, the use of websites like https://aristois.net/ and https://www.mchacks.net/
is not initially dangerous and they are mostly credible it is the direct use of their
products that is not credible and is often untruthful.
### 3. Wikipedia evaluation
● **A version of the “Joseph Reagle” Wikipedia article stated (a) I worked at the
World Wide Web Consortium and (b) my book Good Faith Collaboration was
“bestselling.” How does these claims relate to the policy of
Wikipedia:Verifiability? (c) Would you suggest any changes to the page?**
(a) In this Wikipedia article it states that Professor Joseph Reagle worked at the
World Wide Web Consortium but there is no link to any work he did there or even a
link to his profile while working at W3C. This makes this Wikipedia page less
verifiable because the accuracy and truthfulness of the content becomes
questionable.
(b) In the Wikipedia article it states that Professor Joseph Reagle’s book Good Faith
Collaboration was “bestselling” there is again no credible information like statistics
or any other links backing up the fact that it was a “bestselling” book. There is a link
however to another Wikipedia page that gives information about the book itself
which does assist in the verifiability that Professor Joseph Reagle actually wrote the
book.
(c) I would suggest changes to the page by adding more information to the page to
make the information more verifiable and more accurate with links that back up
claims and I would include statistics and numbers which also would strengthen the
overall verifiability and truthfulness of this Wikipedia page.
● **According to its history, when was this page first created (i.e., the oldest
