  • Maintaining ai16z's Talent Pool of 3D Artists This document primarily discusses the objectives, plan, and budget of the ai16z art workgroup for Q1 of 2025. After more than a month of operation, the ai16z artist workgroup has provided the DAO with core media and marketing production capabilities, made possible by a team of expert talent. The workgroup successfully earned the trust of non-crypto-native artists, onboarded them to Dework, and acquainted them with the core technologies we use at M3. I aim to outline some of the key challenges we have faced and addressed, our achievements, and areas for improvement. The artist workgroup was originally proposed to Jin as a means for us, the M3 members, to transfer our accumulated knowledge and experience to a new generation of talent, while core members of M3 and the ai16z DAO addressed scaling issues within the organization. A critical aspect of scaling the ai16z DAO involved recruiting competent 3D artists to assist with content production and be readily available to address urgent modeling and marketing requests as we engaged with partners and prepared content for events. Building Connections and Trust: The initial challenge for the artist workgroup was to identify the right talent for our team and to determine the systems and protocols needed to establish a functioning cohort. Our strategy during the first week of operations involved assigning small modeling tasks to artists to assess their skills and to identify their strengths, thus maximizing their potential by assigning roles and tasks best suited to them. Many of the initial tasks involved simple character modeling. Some artists quickly found their niche: J_ flawlessly executed the task of creating ai16z-branded signage. Clnzpm rapidly produced characters in iClone that faithfully represented real-world figures, turning them into "AI" versions used in animated videos. Matii also performed excellently by modeling some Oekakiconnect characters; however, the models were delivered unrigged.

  • Assembling a creative talent pool for ai16z and metaverse makers projects. Artists inside of M3 have unique insights and perspectives on web and metaverse technologies. The games industry has not yet fully realized the potential of web based interoperable metaverses, all the while major stakeholders inside of M3 and ai16z are busy acclimating to lifechanging opportunities and newfound responsibilities, mangaging a large community, documenting work, managing developers and artists, juggling multiple projects, developing software, and running core functions inside ai16z dao. The goal of this proposal is to create conditions to allow for Shaw, Jin and critical stakeholders to focus on core buisness and organization tasks, without being distracted by minor work in the trenches. Scaling out the metaverse The primary goal of this working group and studio is to be able to make sure that any pressing and promising opportunities are tackled quickly and urgently. Concepts, ideas and experiments involving artwork should be conducted without being bottlenecked by individual artists. Artists such as 7oroy, toxsam and alsara2k who are intimately familiar with the interoperable workflows and pipelines developed by M3 should be able to transfer their skills and set up systems to educate and onboard new artists into our ecosystem. I'm seeking funding to build a team that can be directed towards tackling whatever creative ambitions and opportunities M3 and ai16z may find, and I'm also hoping to encourage a culture of scaling out teams inside of M3 and ai16z and to build the systems to accomodate them. This will also be an opportunity to establish and experiment with new work systems that might not have been present or necessary in M3. Systems to do with Accountability, payroll, HR protocols, employee health and job security, will be allowed to find root and be developed and curated overtime in these teams. This is also an opportunity to document and observe the process of building teams and funding them, knowledge which should be observed, shared and institutionalized into our organizations, informing what team cultures and rules should be fostered in the future. This working group and studio also hopes to be able to take on work related to ai16z and M3 partner projects such as erth.ai, scatter.art, memecoin projects and NFT projects, communities such as tubby cats, and to expand M3 and ai16z's reach throughout the web3 ecosystem through collaborations with partners. This proposal also hopes to encourage experienced project managers, and people who have run and built remarkable platforms such as vipe, in the case of ToxSam, to pursue opportunities to establish their own work groups and studios to serve the interests of M3, ai16z, and other significant stakeholders. The more hands available on deck to pursue and execute on the creative visions of M3, and to assist devs with critically necessary content creation and curation, the more potential reach our platforms will find, more credibility earned, and more objectives achieved.

  • This is a concept for a potential 3D tubby cats items pipeline. The concept: 3D scene pipeline for card art and 3D viewers. I'm proposing creating a pipeline for the many unique tubby cats 3D traits in a way that portrays them in a believable, Tubby Universe. As a believer in the strong and iconic design of tubbies, I think that effort should be put into building up hype around what a tubby 3D universe could look like, and I think that showcasing the awesome tubby items in such an environment could drive further interest towards the project and bring more interest and funding towards M3. One of the main strengths of Tubbies is how immaculately and carefully designed and structured the collection is, as well as its communities strong perception of the brand and art. Its important that whatever 3D derivatives get produced adhere to the strong brand image and aesthetic of tubbies and respect the communities perception of what it is. The community is quite alive and engaged in the creation of OC, and has been receptive of the many renders M3 has produced with the assembled 3D VRMs. Some of the ways the 3D traits can be portraid could be through trading cards, assets in a 3D viewer app as hand drawn art or as animated gifs. I'll weigh these against each other and give my opinion on how they measure up. As trading cards, Tubby items could be rendered out in blender either with some kind of contextual background (a store, hair salon, cafe etc), or as simple transparent thumbnails pasted over a pre-existing tubby background.

  • Open Interop How often have you experienced the frustration of a cherished MMO shutting down, resulting in the loss of your rank, characters, and any in-game assets purchased with real money? It's a tale as old as the gaming industry itself – services closing their servers and erasing the time and money players invested, offering no return on the players' investment. This issue is pervasive in all conventional, isolated web-based services, where a studio or company must continue to uphold servers for their online games to remain playable. Any web-native content format can be easily tokenized and presented as an NFT. The primary advantage of NFTs is that they are hosted on the web in a decentralized manner. Each token points to a JSON metadata file, which, in turn, links to an IPFS location where the content is stored. This ensures that the tokens persist on the blockchain indefinitely, with decentralized servers providing hosting for them. So, what does this mean for the gaming industry? If you're not familiar with the term "interoperability," here's a brief explanation. Web interoperability refers to the ability of your web browser to handle images, videos, and audio formats like MP3 and WAV in a way that is compatible with other browsers, your operating system, and various software designed to run them. These file formats act as wrappers for content, ensuring that it can be viewed seamlessly across a wide range of programs. Web interoperability is characterized by a web browser's capability to render content consistently on all devices, ensuring that webpages and their content load as intended by their creators. Open and interoperable web standards are the driving force behind the web's functionality.
