When carrying out an Field Training Patrol, you must check if they have the`passed` status on their **Examination** Column on the [Academy Tracker](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xOp3pFJD0Bf9SjiQBsTfplMSXaOGcVDeOmmZvOmK2xA/edit?usp=sharing). 2. Decide whether or not the cadet should drive or observe you. You may ask them and decide for yourself, however, it is recommended newcomers watch before taking the wheel. It is also recommended that those with more experience or with 30+ minutes of patrol time drive. 3. Ensure the cadet is dressed properly, has the proper equipment, and is (if applicable) using the proper vehicle in accordance with department and [cadet policy](LINKME). 4. Ask the cadet to callthemselves 10-8 while you (FTO) takes a screenshot including timestamp. The patrol may begin at this point. Remember, whoever the passenger is (whether it's you or the cadet) should act as normal backup, this means controlling the radio and what not. You should be carefully watching the cadet, talking with them, and correcting any errors you notice. If a cadet makes a serious error and/or violation of department policy, you must report it to an online Training Command member. 5. Once the patrol is over, submit a Field Training Patrol Log [here](https://forms.gle/2kcfkLK6n8AziRL97). Be honest while filling out the log. If you deem the cadet to be unift for their evaluation stage, you must select `Resit` --- ## Field Training Patrol Expectations - Any deputy that is taking a cadet out on the patrol is to behave in a manner that sets a good example for the cadet.
