Take them out of the - Hybrid might be more challenging, but open to - Where and when? we would have to nudge. Conference from Jupyterhub are prioritsing from - Travel grants from PyCon: https://us.pycon.org/2024/attend/travel-grants/ (USD 2000 + conference tickets + food) ----> till Feb 16 - Let them suggest other organisations, make this available to them ---> Kirstie will deal with that. ## Agreement meeting with Arielle - Budget, where is it flowing: The Alan Turing and other partners - Payment terms: every 6 months - reporting requirements - GDPR - Check with Legal the role of the CZI initiative and no pledge (don't freak out legal) - We don't agree on "Hold Harmless" - we will not have an indemnity between us, if they want one, we will have to ask the Exec board to approve it. **PAIN** - The liability that we will put it in, specific amount of liability, the default one - Governing Law will be in England or Wales, check if they would have any issues with that **PAIN** - Data access and intellectual property (IP): what are we producing? This replaces your current designation as a Negligibly Impactful Business. The Moderately Impactful Business designation comes with increased governance requirements which are listed below. Note that our decision may be appealed and is considered probationary until the appeals process is complete." In the short scifi story "Sunlight" by Shauna Gordon-McKeon, one woman loves that the little café she runs with her wife has become a community space. But her wife doesn't. Goals: How do we work out leadership governance structure What the current situation and how we can use it to improve sustainability * doing a bunch of conversations, what is delta vs what is actually happen * using that info in a few different ways, taking this to create mass media discoverable but also, what about this folks need, could there be training? coaching? what we learn from the first step. Having conversations and developing this knowledge. Synthesize into materials, workshops that we might need. She's still looking for someone to back her up. She would like the have more time to scope of the project. She wanted to mentioned other folks, apart from Superbloom. Knowing that there are more folks with her experience: https://elplatt.com/ https://authenticengine.com/ ----> Kristie is very experienced, good recommendation https://jennyryan.net/ Rethorical triangle: audience, medium and message. Once we get the info, who do we owe this information. It would make sense to have some manifestation about this, something like The Turing Way, Arts (Plays) * Python at play, two people having positive disagreement, vulnerability, emotional progress. ## There's nothing like story, rules divide and narative unites * The audience, trying to share with others. Here's a way to organically itegrate and how you can adapt to that. Some type of narrative, animation, theatre might be the most appealing to engage with something like. We can empathize with people who think differently. * KW: mainly onboard, they will feel something and they will learn a lot. A play or more creative touches a deep way to learn however what we happen afterwards? Behaviour change? How can we create that? * Trustbuilding * Addressing them in different ways. * Audience of Open source Practitioners, will find this information more discorable through The Turing Way. Post-publication steps to * Fiction, writen fiction commission, a book Club to discuss the findings. People are willing to get this messages better than traditional ways. * TTW has a lot of engagement, we have cartoonists that come along, and we have more illustrations that chapters in the book ---> diverse audience, more woman than men. ## The JupyterHub community is the focus of this grant. * We are focusing on the dissemination, accountability and strategically. Trying to help them to operationalise. conversation between Min and Kistie, no meetings are necessary to make decisions * Cold processing way to operationalise. Focusing on dissemination is not the hard part but making them people work together. They work in a particular way, they don't know that the way they work is only a flavour * They would like to have someone who tell them what to do, unconfortableness and change for the current ways of working to something that is better. What do we need to hold their hands, until these 15 are aligned and understand each other they will struggle to find a way up. * These folks are in trouble that they don't even realise it --> it's significantly harder. Hypothesis is that they believe the other is the problem without taking accountability of their own behaviour * time would be an issue for them, features to gather * we need to not cause harm but we don't need to succeed, gather informatio about the current situation and where are the barriers and why, inception model (open up their thoughts and get to some ideas that they could action) Actions: - Talk on Monday 22 January - NO, we will meet once KW and Sumana are back from their holidays, from 5 Feb - Priorities: People in the Jupyterhub has not seen the plan. We wanted to lock either Sumana or Superbloom. - Talk about changes in the proposal
