#### Best Practices to work with Scriberia Artist
We would like most of you signed up for the Scriberia illustration session in groups (20 mins each group) to contribute to an illustration. If you have not signed up, please look at what others are working on. If you like a topic that others have signed up to work on, that you would like to contribute to, please ping them about it.
All signed up teams can discuss beforehand how/what they have in mind. Our Scriberia illustrators have experience illustrating technical concepts simply and hence they will understand data science concepts (but keep it simple).
Here are a few tips for you to plan to work with illustrator:
* Keep your idea simple: less complex processes and components make illustrations easy to understand without much text (hence they are reusable by others, transferable in different projects beyond TTW book and can work for any language)
* Capture the key message: These illustrations go along with the chapter you are writing, or a talk you will give — so think about key message that you want to convey
* Explore some ideas in advance with your team members: This helps when speaking with the illustrator as you will be able to provide specific idea, example, metaphor or analogy. Note that this may evolve to something new/better while talking/working with the illustrator (they ask clarifying questions and discuss if something is not clear).
* When the final illustration is produced: We should have the first version of all images by the end of the day in the UK. I will share a link to a shared drive which you can use to check all illustrations. If illustration you contributed to has some error, please raise them with me as soon as possible. We can request to correct those errors in the next days.
* Adding Alt Text to each of the illustrations produced: to make the illustrations accessible for all, the working group should produce a small piece of text to describe the image. (Alt Text - alternative text - is read aloud by screen readers used by visually impaired users): [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B4mm-7ELWZCkHqE2rfeML1z803TNSnjLReMTlvyEltQ/edit#gid=0](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B4mm-7ELWZCkHqE2rfeML1z803TNSnjLReMTlvyEltQ/edit#gid=0)
