# Aeternus Design Document ### This document will outline the goals of this modpack and the systems/mods that will get it there. It is supposed to help with the organization of developing an opensource Minecraft Modpack ## Aeternus Overview Aeternus is a modpack that will simulate a living and breathing world of minecraft players. Players will be enouraged to trade and cooperate to succeed. This is acomplished by creating the correct enviroment for and economy to form. The pack will harness Reskillable, Gamestages, and recipe reconfiguring to create a progression system that realies heavly on cooperation and specialization. ### Economy The most important part of Aeternus is it's ability to grow an economy. As stated scarcity is needed to do this or certain resources can't be readly avilable, this can be seen in vanilla minecraft. It's generally exclusive to later game or extremely rare items ie diamonds, elytras. It can also arise when dealing with items in bulk, like 1,000s of ingots of iron. The difference in Aeternus is that ~~all~~ most things will have scarcity. This is done through Reskillable and Gamestages. For example, a Cook needs a new skillet however a the Cook doesn't know how to smith. So they trade with a Smith for a skillet. Furthermore the Smith requires metal ore to make the skillet so he must purchase the metal from a miner. This can be put to many examples. Some items will be more vaulable than other, like healing items etc. ### Progression --- Progression in Aeternus is very much like every other techy progression pack. The recipes won't be quite as crazy beacuase recipes aren't the only method of progression we have. Progression is more closely tied to the skill system from Reskillable. As you wont enter the Bronze Age without a smith to make it or a miner to mine it. Beyond that you wont get to far at all if no one knows what's editable or how to cook anything. Progression will be designed to be somewhat slow albiet the more people you have the easier it will be. That is pretty standard though. ## Contributing This is afterall an opensource project, so please contribute I currently don't think I'd finish it if I were alone. I also think having people get involved in it that actually want to play it is a good idea. This section is for me to write things that people should know if they want to contribute. These include generally rules for how things should be implemented and questions for possible features or just current unknowns. ### Rules We don't have very many rules currently as there are too many unknowns. So go their and help answer some questions. - Recipes should be on Artisan tables or stumps ### Questions #### Skills - What is the max level a skill can reach? - Can Skills have different max levels? - What skills should we include? #### Other Questions Should dying reset skills, location, should you be able to set a spawn point. What are the different progression ages (Helps with dev organization) How should cooking recipes work, currently using pam's plus ex sartigine. ### Mods Lastly there are mods that might have some issues with them. They are not perfect for the job, outdated, imcomplete, scuffed, or wrong version. Mods in this list are mods that need either an alternative, porting, or fixing. I will most likely try to do some of this myself but I am terrible a java and mostly just know zen script when it comes to minecraft. So if you are feeling generous please take a look. All mods here are also looking for a 1.12.2 alternate. - [Better Combat](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/better-combat-by-daedelus) (Version Port) - [Actions of Stamina](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/actions-of-stamina)(Version Port) - [Feathers](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/feathers) (Version Port) - [Elaina Dodge 2](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/elenai-dodge-2) (Outedated) - [Better With Mods](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/bwm-suite) (Alternative/Configuration advice Medieval Age mod basicly) - [Immersive Weathering](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/immersive-weathering-forge) (Version Port) This are things I wish a mod would do - Custom Weapons with Tinkers forging and Reskillable compat :::info I made these rules so the project could be more organized and uniform. Instead of everyone just doing what they think they should do. If you really don't like how something is implemented you can make a case against it. This is supposed to be community driven. If you really hate everything about it, fork it. Also yes the mod requests aren't easy or likely but if just one gets fullfied it would be pretty cool. :::
